my best guess is this ok so itachi said hes going to give naruto some of his power so perhaps it was the uchihas power to control the ninetails which is what naruto is having trouble with right now

it might be something to counter sharingan but also it might be something to help naruto to beat madara. (i was thinking that this is something to help naruto and sasuke if they ever team up to fight madara.)
