Itachi stated that he was giving Naruto some of his power. My guess would be some kind of Sharingan counter. It's the most useful thing that makes sense. Naruto has no real defense against Sasuke's Sharingan; genjutsu in particular.

Whatever it is, hopefully it'll be revealed in the near future.
