What could have happened to Sasuke in Boruto's future timeline

If we closely take a look at Boruto in episode 1 it's very that the cloak Boruto is wearing+the sword he has is of Sasuke.This make me think what would have happened to Sasuke that he give his sword and cloak to Boruto I mean he is not that kind of guy who give his sword to someone without any reason.
