Hahha? So your basing ones popularity on social media alone? If thats true then ronaldo would be the most famous celebrity on the planet, which is far from the truth. jay z has more than 17 grammys more than eminem.
Yet, you based Jay-Z success on his skills as a Rapper. Eminem has more passion and a lyrical beast. Jay-Z has a good flow and lyrics are more entertaining such as with major artist today which is appealing to the audience of today's music.

It's really one of those genres that vary from artist to artist. People as different from rappers like Nas to Chief Keef. Andre 3000 and Lil Boosie. There are rappers I don't listen to because I don't like their style, whether it's hip-hop or not. I am a fan of hip-hop but I don't love all of it. And then being the best isn't about sales for me. It's content, hype, lyrics, flow, impact, style, variety, consistency, the list goes on! Sales is only a small factor in the grand scheme of things for most hip-hop fans IMO. Their are a plethora of underground rappers are just sick nasty but don't sale albums. It's the way the game works.

When I think of rap music, it's hard to say what comes to mind. Inspiration from the struggles of rappers who climbed to fame. Sadness from the emotions brought and stories told within a single verse. Happiness from the bonds of made with others because of the music. Nostalgia from my dad when he first introduced me to hip-hop and the artists. There is no one thing I can describe it as. As a fan hip-hop, the music makes me think many different things as you can tell but since I grew up with it, it's a genre that I'm more fond of than others.

What facts are there to prove? Jayz has more awards thus is more acknowledged by the music industry right?

Rap is great, but it certainly depends on the artist. Have you ever been to Hollywood? In front of the Chinese Theater, there are a lot of street artists trying to make a name for themselves and hand out sample CD's of their work. I listened to their sample and man it was god awful. You can tell that they are very inexperienced in lyrical blacksmithing. It was such generic rap that anyone can write. Eminem is a great artist because he is very versatile with his music. His songs range from Slim Shady to Ken Kaniff to songs about how much he loves his daughters and he once even wrote a song for a fan.

Not my favorite genre, if I like the beat and lyrics I can listen to it no matter what the language.
Same here. I have one song of wiz khalifa on my ipod because the instrumentals are goosebump worthy. The lyrics are what always comes out of khalifa's mouth. Shit.

I used to listen to immortal technique and some other rappers with meaningful lyrics. But the current rap generation are posers. Products of their environment.

Why do white people keep saying eminem is the best? Jayz is more succesful.

Success and talent aren't synonymous, the best rappers are underground and have far less acknowledgement than either despite being more talented than both.

But whilst we're on the topic, Em has sold over 80 million worldwide compared to JZ's 40 million. To top it off, Eminem's most popular video on YT has raked in more than 500 million views in 4 years compared to Jay-Z's 200 million in 5 years.

Jay-Z's money doesn't even primarily come from music, but clothes.

40 Million? Thats A Lie! Here is a direct quote from wikipedia.
He is one of the world's best-selling artists of all time, having sold more than 75 million records, while receiving 19 Grammy Awards for his musical work, and numerous additional nominations.
Jayz has sold over 75 million records and has more grammy accolades than eminem and grammys are the oscars of music so in other words based on awards jayz is more acknowledged by the music industry.

As an artist, he holds the record for most number one albums by a solo artist on the Billboard 200 with 13.
So i dont know where you get your source from but i doubt wiki would make up any stats or untrue infomation.

Oh no, because Wikipedia is always so accurate, right?

Even if it were true, he's still not sold as much and less recognized by the world. Grammys are garbage that even vanilla bands like U2 stack up on.

The only good thing about Jay-Z was the flow he displayed in the earlier works, but as for the most important part - lyrics, he just makes rehashed "gangsta" trash that has been done thousands of times over. He's a one-trick pony that manages to satiate the unimaginative and unlearned.

I don't really care for either anyway.

Aesop isn't mainstream.

He's a talented rapper with a great intellect, something which is exposed in his lyrics. He's been around since the 80s.

Yeah, rappers from that time usually have better lyrics than the ones from our gen.

No diversity, imo, just like the oh-so gay country genre. Every song is either about: hoes, *****es, weed, alcohol, or poontang.

I just don't like it.
