Fire is strong against wind because the oxygen fuels the flames and makes them bigger and more powerful. While fire is strong against wind, the two can also work in unison to increase the effectiveness of fire techniques.

Fire can be used to set weather conditions, heating the atmosphere, to to strengthen the power of lightning techniques. Giving the lightning user the field advantage.

Earth is also strong against fire. The weight of the dirt can smother and kill the flames. Just like putting out a camp fire.

Thanks for the notes Ive save them. I didn't even think about fire attacks usually being in the air. My only question is, are earth shields and barriers strong against fire?

Well it mostly depends on the ranks to be honest, and the composition of the earth. I would not try to use something else than solid stone. Especially not mud, as it turns into lava, but it could would depending on the the type of fire attack and earth defense jutsu you use.

Ok, now that that's settled, let's start.

Good, first of all I want you to examine the fire and tell me everything you see in it, it's abilities and characteristics.

*As I gaze into the fire I can feel the warmth enveloping me. As the orange and red flames flick about in no particular pattern, I realize that I will need to be diligent about controlling this element because if I do not the consequences could be dire. The heat becomes more intense. The air is feeding the fire and it is growing larger, however the little flames that fly off from the fire die out immediately. This tells me that the fire cannot sustain itself. It needs a base on which to keep burning. I notice from the sweat forming on my forehead that it is getting hotter. I close my eyes and inhale the scent of the fire. It is dry and flat, but somehow exciting. When I open my eyes I am close enough to reach out and touch the fire, it has been drawing me in all along.*

Weird, normally you're wet when you feel something exciting, not dry. Oh well. ;3

*I focus on the warmth of my chakra and think of the heat of the fire. I build up chakra in my stomach and try to match the heat of the flames. I might need heartburn medicine later, but I push through it for now. As the heat builds up in my stomach my body starts to glisten because girls don't sweat. When the chakra in my stomach is so hot I must let it out and I release a HUGE burp!*

Ok, good.
now, start focusing katon chakra in your stomach. Increase and stabilize the amount. Once this is done, send it through your throat to your mouth and release it, making a small fireball.

*I change my chakra nature to fire once more and build up the chakra in my stomach. I try to increase the amount I can hold inside. When I feel the chakra slipping from my control I do not panic. Instead, I calm myself keeping a cool head and regain control. I go through this until I am comfortable holding a large amount of chakra. I build up the chakra, hold my shoulders back and blow forcefully as I release the fire from my mouth creating a pretty puny fireball.*

Pretty much useless, considering the rank and the time it would take to set it up. You throw the shuriken at the enemy, and while releasing them set them on fire, but it's only short range so by the time you throw them you'll be dead.
Nonetheless, try it out!

Don't hate this jutsu is OPish if the target and move ever and is already dead.

*I take out two shuriken, one in each hand. After I build up my chakra in my stomach I start to release fire nature chakra into my hands causing the metal to heat up in my hands. I aim for nearby rock. I move to throw the shuriken and set the shuriken ablaze with Dragon Flame Blitz just before I completely release the weapons. The fiery shuriken plunge into the middle of the rock. The flame catch fire to the bit of moss that is growing on top of the rock.*

Description: After performing the necessary hand seals Snake → Ram → Monkey → Tiger, the user is able to create and blow a flammable gas from their lungs. Once it comes in contact with fire or sparks, the gas ignites into a large fireball.

Ok, first do the hand seals. Focus your katon chakra in your lungs, and mold it into a gas. This isn't easy and requires a lot of focus. Once you have done this, you can send it out, and ignite it once it leaves your mouth, creating a large fireball that flies at the opponent.

*I perform the hand seals Snake → Ram → Monkey → Tiger. I focus my chakra in my stomach to maintain a gaseous form, but to also keep the flammable properties. It tastes bad!!! I try releasing some and igniting it, it remains a spark suggesting that there was either not enough gas, or that it dispersed too quickly. Redoing the seals I try again. I concentrate the gas more tightly this time. I blow out a steady stream of gas and ignite it, creating a more impressive fire ball.*

(Suiton: Gufuu Suika) - Water Style: Typhoon Water Vortex

This jutsu can also be used to drown out wind and fire combos

I start by forming chakra in one hand, making it 
swirl in a spherical fashion. I add Wind Manipulation to
it and create a wind styled rasengan.
In my other hand, I create a small torrent of water. I smash
my hands together, and combine the attacks. I shoot out the
combined attack and a big swirling vortex of water appears.

Advantages
- It is a quick counter measure for fire attacks up
- It does not require a water source
-It expands


Disadvantages
-Due to the expansion it can block your sight
-It would not optimally in short range because of the reaction time and the combining of two elements.

Do the necessary hand seals. While you do that, inhale and focus your katon chakra in your stomach. Once inhaled, create a ring around your mouth, with your thumb and index finger, and exhale, creating a huge fire ball.

*I perform the hand seals Snake → Ram → Monkey → Boar → Horse → Tiger. I build up katon chakra in my stomach. I take a deep beath and have the katon energy travel up to my mouth. I form a ring over my mouth with my thumb and index finger and blow the jutsu out forcefully through the ring, igniting it on exit. The jutsu forms a large fireball which rolls forward quickly, burning anything it its path!

Advantages:
-It does not require an outside source, everything comes from the user
-It is a powerful jutsu that can be formed quickly and fend off close targets
-Size can obscure the target's vision of the user

Disadvantages:
-Size can block the user's vision of the target
-It is short ranged so the distance must be closed before it can be used

Alright. Good. Take note that this jutsu is also hard for people without fire as specialty due to the amount of hand seals at short range. It's risky.



(Katon: Hibashiri) - Fire Release: Running Fire

Description: After performing the Tiger hand seal by utilizing their fire chakra will create a stream of fire that can be manipulated into several forms (rings of fire that runs on the ground or a circle of fire flying through the air) before striking the target. It can also be used in combination with Wind Release: Divine Wind to create a tornado of flames, or with Wind Release: Godly Wind from the Mountains to release a massive inferno.

This is a very nifty jutsu. Focus your fire chakra as usual in your stomach. Manipulate the shape in to several rings of fire on the ground or in the air. You can then send the rings at your opponent, or make them stronger by empowering them with a fire based attacks. Take note that several of these increase your chance of hitting the opponent or can actually change the way you use this in your turn, adjusting your tactic due to the amount.
