Were you a fan of Gaiden and the next Gen? [Poll]

I like Gaiden, & the next generation. I just wished he did more before going to them.

An arc of 19 Year old Naruto & Sasuke would have been great with Sixth Hokage Kakashi, a good Ootsutsuuki threat etc.

In my opinion I feel the epilogue, Gaiden and the Boruto movie did absolutely nothing for the series.

Not that there weren't cool moments here and there but in general what can you say any of it did for the series?

Now Naruto is Kishimoto's baby and I truly have no doubt he will once again write Naruto , maybe after 10 years. DBZ Battle of the Gods anyone? I just hope he forgets Gaiden and the next gen all together and simple writes before the series stories or continues from Chapter 699.

Anyone else feel the same way? Were you a fan of Gaiden and next gen?

If Kishi continued in the future where would you like for him to continue from? Pre-series, after 699 or Next gen?

I think Boruto was a good end point for the series.

We got to see Nads and Sauce work together as adults.

We got to see their kids.

We got the implication that we'll finally get an Uchiha hokage and BoltSarada will happen.

I'm satisfied.

So, to answer your question--he shouldn't write anything--he should end things on the high note the Boruto movie put things on lest he ruins his series and focus on his next project.

He should only do an anniversary special every 2 years or so...maybe one showing Sarada's inauguration and life for the older next generation.

But that's it. No more.

It's a fun extra. The only newbie I really like is Chocho (I haven't met Metal Lee yet) and Gaiden was incredibly frustrating with it's potential but i'm glad I read it, even if only to see Suigetsu, Karin & Kabuto again. Everything post 699 goes without saying.

I just would like it to end now as much as I love it.

Seeing Kabuto again kinda bothered me... I mean, we all knew he'd wind up as the head of the orphanage, but he still looked like Orochimaru... Eye marks, snake pupils, pale skin, cracks in his skin...
His body is a physical reminder of his sins and he has to live with that for the rest of his life, even though he's atoned. Which would be fine, but Kishi had already made him normal again but decided to go back to his post-DNA experiment look for some weird reason.

And then there's the fact that Orochimaru was looking like he'd follow everyone to Shin's base, then he straight up disappeared without a word. That kinda pissed me off lol

Not enough uniqueness. None of them meet Part 1 standards for interesting characters though.

Oh their actual usage? Awful. The fact that Orochimaru was practically exposition sage & babysitter was appalling. Gaiden was the perfect chance to show Orochimaru doing something endgame (not an apocalyptic Ootsutsuki event but something sly at least)

Couple more chapters and split Shin from Orochimaru's workings completely and Gaiden could've been small-scale (it is a prelude after all) but great.

Honestly, to me, Naruto ended with the main manga. I didn't really feel anything about any extra material that came afterwards. I didn't hate it, but I can't say I loved it; I just couldn't emotionally invest into it. I suppose the feeling of the main story being over just overwhelmed everything else.

I dnt like next gen characters either, some of the designs are disturbing.
I left halfway thorough the gaiden never bothered to check it again. I intend to watch the movie though.

To me the gaiden was just for laugh.
It was a bad family drama. He made shit with sasusaku (the lulz part).
But what was the point? lol
