[Question] Welcome Committee?

I haven't been on the base in a long while but I have come back to see there is now a "NarutoBase Welcome Committee". I thought welcoming someone was just common courtesy and really made the newbie feel welcome. I may be the only one who thinks this but I now believe it has become a chore/job for someone to welcome someone with a Copy/Paste message sent to 200 other members. I really don't mean to offend anyone by making this thread but I am just concerned that some people's intensions are not to aid the new members but to just complete a job.

The people in the Committee can raise their post count, and the new people feel more welcome. I don't see a problem.
