Sup everyone, So recently(monday) i started lifting weights...the 3 day (wednesday) my arms became real sore and i couldn't "bend" or "straighten" my arms past 90 degrees it was stuck at 90degrees every time i tried to straighten it i would go under immense pain?
Has anybody felt it before?

First of all, you should probably get some sort of instructor or teacher for lifting weights. As not doing it correctly can put you in danger.

i used to weight lift. now i breakdance. weight lifting gave me stretch marks so i prefer to dance and keep my flexibility. your arms are sore, give them time to regenerate muscle tissues.

yes everyone who has ever lifted after and long time off the first time is the worst just keep at it and dont go to hard lift once every 3 days in the start then ever other day when you get into it

dont worry it gets easier and once your in shape the pain is never that bad again.....i took a year off then did a massive leg work out and for 2 days afater i could not walk up stairs

you over did it..Did you even stretch before and after lifting?

Or it could be that the weights where too heavy for you

This happened to me as well when I first started lifting when I was 14. The possibilities are the following:

*You had the wrong form, in which caused this conclusion.
*The weight was to heavy, make sure to go at your own pace. More weight does not mean more gains.
*You have worked your bicep to an extent at which it needs recovery; your potential was pushed in which lead to the conclusion of your arm not being able to bend or straighten.

Don't lift heavy weight for arms. Biceps are the smallest muscle group in your body. All you have to do is get a pump. So lighter weight and a lot more reps. Like 4x8-12 should do it

Exactly. Save the heavy weight for when you're way up there in strength/size.

I usually do 3x10 or pyramid goin 1st Set: 10 reps, 2nd Set: 8 reps, 3rd Set: 6 reps.

depends on if your looking to build muscle or tone muscle if your toneing its light weight with heavy reps and for building muscle its heavy weight with light reps

also diet has alot to do with it aswell if you not eating right and healing right you wont get the best results

i use to curl 100 pounds for 3 sets of ten until i got to my desired size then cut down to fifty with 5 sets of 20 to tone it all up

It's normal for your arms and legs to feel sore if you're new to WLing or you haven't workout in a long time. Just take it easy on the weight the next time you workout, and if you're feeling better you can go back to pushing yourself but don't over do it of course. Lol

maybe it's because you're only working one body part when lifting? If so then after 3 days of strain on just one muscle there's bound to be some soreness..especially since you just started lifting

Try to take some days off of lifting and do some cardio on the day that you don't lift..this should help burn the fat and make lifting easier..plus you'll have more energy and wont get tire as fast as doing only lifts everyday
