Well i am new to weightlifting, I'm doing it at a proffesional gym.
I felt the soreness when i got home i took a shower and fell asleep i woke up middle of the night and felt that my arms weren't bending.
I stretched before gym and didn't after.(My mistake)
I didn't go to the gym the following day , i went friday but didn't workout.(The gym got new equipment so we helped out getting them out of the truck they came in etc.
Today i lifted something heavy out of the car it straightend my arms i could properly use them with a little pain , so i felt the soreness again last night, this time i'm just gonna rest and wait it out.
Since i started at the gym i'm eating alot of food with high amounts of protein and drinking alot of water.

streching is good to do but if your just starting out there is no way of avoiding the pain especially if b4 you started working out you were not very active

just keep at it after about 3 or 4 workouts your will still be in pain but it wont be dire cant move pain

dont worry about cutting the weight if your comfortable with the weight and curl it properly keep it up its just about getting into shape

also as someone already said dont work out the same muscle all the time if you never give the muscle time to heal then you will hurt yourself and work against the goal of being in shape i use to have a 3 day a week routine for my weights

1 days was biceps triceps and forearms for arms
next day was chest back and abs
third day was legs

and it was every other day like monday was arms....wensday was chest and friday was legs and on tuesday and thursday just running for cardio

When lifting weights everyday should be different. Example: Mondays are chest and arm day,Tuesday leg day,Wednesday shoulder day. When you do this its gives your muscle time to rest & heal. When you lift you burn alot of protein so make sure you eat alot of protein before and after your workouts. Also stretch before lifting. Your sore cuz you probably worked out the same muscles everyday and you were lifting too much. Always start small then build your way up.

If you're muscles become sore the next day, one of the reasons is that you don't in take enough protein after your workout. Invest some money in Gold Standard Whey Protein and you should feel less soreness and you will have faster growth. You should also take Casein protein before you sleep since your body is inactive while you sleep.

Eat pre- and post workout so that your muscles get enough protein.
