Well which kings are you referring too because there are a lot and not all are equal in power and riches?

But still, you're comparing a king who possessed land, castles, servants, women, food, luxury, and real power to someone in the middle class of today?

Yes, we have technology, medicine, and quality food but we still don't compare to rulers of the past.

I can compare i rule an empire on my phone lol jk maybe in my dreams we do have robots so we do have the servants part down

Worked hard at what? That's the question. You tell yourself it's all about luck. When I reach my goal I'm probably going to get called lucky aswell.

No, no - you made a sweeping statement saying that only rich people have worked hard; grotesquely naive. And if you do reach your goal, it will be because of luck.

Whether it's being in the right place at the right time, happening upon an important piece of overlooked information, a fortunate moment or coming across a certain person... that will be it. 30% hard work, 70% luck. If you're not born into it, or born with a certain special quality, then it will be one single moment in your life that changes everything. Or even all 3, like Bill Gates.

I tell myself it's luck because I've seen both sides of the coin with my very eyes.

So how does what you say disprove that fact that people get lucky? It doesn't.

You keep claiming to be hard working but you work more hours and still make less than the average individual. So your logic fails.

What slimreaper neglected to tell you about Norman Larsen (inventor of WD-40) is that he never actually got rich off the back of it, selling the product with no royalties/residuals for a low price. Then he died aged only 47.

What did he lack? Luck.

The average american makes 32'000 a year. I make almost double that

No it isn't and no you don't. You said you make 27k a year recently. So you're a lying *****.

And the best part is that the math you gave me didn't even include taxes. LMAO.

10 dollars an hour times 40 hours a week is 400$, 15 dollars an hour times 8 hours a week is 120$

520 times 52 is 27,040$ a year

Unless I have thousands of acres of land, unlimited food, dozens of servants, hundreds of thousands of inferiors, a giant castle, an army, and never have to cook or clean for myself... Then no, we don't live better than kings.

The modern day "king" is unfortunately Trump. He inherited his wealth, lives in a golden tower, sits in a golden chair, takes over land in other countries, has zero experience with normal livelihood, and is being given political power because of his status. Oh and let's also not forget that he has xenophibic, militaristic ideals like a medieval king too.

I said I made 27 k when I was 18 and had just started my job. I've been promoted twice in the 5 years since then. Go back and read through that thread and I tell you what I make.

"On my schedule i'd still be making 27'000 a year(plus a few 60 and 72 hour weeks which would have probably put me above 30k ) if I made only 10$ an hour. I was making that when I had just turned 18."

You posted the average household income, I posted the average income for an individual.

I've we're talking about household income then me and my roommate together make about 80k a year

He lacked business intelligence not luck

So you went from 27k to double that in 5 years from a job you got since you were 18 without a degree? Yeah, I totally believe that.

Lol not really. Sure, we have clean clothes, technology, cold water, good food etc.

But being a king you still got to be the highest authority :hint:

started at ten dollars. get a 50 cent raise every 3 months. Got a promoted to operator in the first 6 months(that's a 3$ pay increase) keep up now i'm at 14$ an hour. I stayed in that position until I was 21. In that time they changed the raised to every 6 months so i got 2 dollars in raises so by 21 I was at 16$ an hour. Last year I got promoted from general operator into maintenance. Specifically I got the job of plant tool maker. That means when a part on a machine breaks, they bring me a blue print and I write a program to cut steel according to said blueprint's dimensions. I then use a 6 axis dual turret lathe to cut the steel into the tool or part they need to fix the problem. With that promotion I got another 3 dollars putting me at 19. Add in the 6 month raises and I am now at 21$ an hour plus 8 hours of overtime every week. Overtime is paid at time and a half so for 8 hours every week i get paid $31.50.

I never said only the rich work hard, don't put a spin on what I say to help your flawed argument. Whatever moment that makes me achieve my goal won't be because of luck. You're overlooking the years and years of work put in beforehand. Every overnight success story has a long history of consistent grinding, it's not a single event. There is a huge process behind it, that's what people like you don't see when you make your dumb conclusions of luck.

If I was able to take advantage of an opportunity it's only because of the work I put in that made me capable of using that opportunity.
Everyone looks at the event but most people miss the process, it's the hours put in that you don't see.

You will never get lucky by sitting on your ass, but if you work hard and then manage to close a 7 figure deal.
Can you really call that luck? No, there is a reason that person is talking to you and not anyone else.

You can be what you want. I'm a tool and die maker at the Timken Company

Again, what you say is bullshit.

You lack basic arithmetic and you didn't go to college. Apprenticeships require at least 4 years of training. So stop with the verbal diarrhea.

What makes you think I was an apprentice? I applied for the opening for tool and die maker in the plant and got the job. They convinced the dude who was retiring to stick around for another month and train me. It's not that hard of a concept to grasp.

You just can't fathom someone finding success who didn't take the same path you were' fooled into taking.

as far as basic math goes, I only really use geometry, and a calculator. You're making this shit out like it's rocket science.

Lol nice story mate. Except you already said that you got promoted to a tool and die maker, so how is it now that you're saying that you got hired as one?

Lots of holes in your story.

I got hired as a green turn helper. I was promoted to green turn operator. Then the plant tool and die maker was going to retire so they put out an ad in the paper and took applicants from the plant. I got the job. It's really not that hard. It's not technically a promotion, but I consider it one because it put me in the maintenance department and they make more money.

Anymore questions? You're not going to stump me on my life dude.

So you lied about getting a promotion and working hard and instead you got lucky right?

Shit when I used to work for Target I got a "promotion" just because I asked and I didn't even work hard.

I got lucky by being the most qualified for the position? Or I got lucky because an old man was retiring? Either way If I was still a green turn operator I'd still me making damn good money to do an easy job. It's the helper who does all the physical labor really
