Here we'll discuss Zetsu and make Theories about his origins,age and relation with Madara Uchiha..

We know that Zetsu is able to merge with any object and quickly travel to a new location. Thus,serving a variety of different positions in Akatsuki, such as a spy that observes and reports on battles of interest or a lookout during Akatsuki's meetings.
He is also cannibalistic, and is often sent to dispose of bodies Akatsuki does not want found, mirroring the large venus flytrap that envelops his body.

Zetsu's body is split into two different colors, his right side being black and his left being white. If necessary, the two halves can split apart and act independently.
Zetsu's half black and half white parts simbolise his double personality.

Zetsu is the only member of Akatsuki to regularly act without a partner.​

I'm bought into that whole theory that Zetsu is really old and kind of saved Madara Uchiha. When this one was left dying at the Valley of the end by Shodaime Hashirama Senju..
He probably has 80-100 years old..​

I have noticed that the black side often seems more informed than the white side. He is often explaining things to the white one.

Perhaps the black one is the original, and is able to combine with another person to lengthen his life.

Zetsu appears to know about legendary items, plus amaterasu, meaning he has seen many spectacular things that more than likely took a large amount of time to cover.

I'd say easily 100+ years old.

As to helping madara back to health from his battle with 1st hokage-definitely a possibility.

Zetsu does appear to have a partner that is tobi, tobi appears to treat zetsu as an equal...Which suggests a lot.

Tobi is first seen with Zetsu,trying to "enter" in Akatsuki to replace Sasori of The Red Sands.. Later on he gets to be partned with Deidara..
But when we get to know Tobi is actually Madara Uchiha. Zetsu gets to be seen almost always with Madara Uchiha.
Also Akatsuki members seem to report everything to Zetsu. I believe Zetsu was always the "right hand" of Madara Uchiha and had an higher status in Akatsuki then Nagato himself (which was only a puppet)..​

The black side seems to be a more rude,knowledgeble,more evil side.. White side seems more laidback,naive and dumb side.. LOL​
