Though quick in release, once projectiles are released you have no control over them. It's generally the same in every case with projectile based weaponry minus attachments like wire that allow you control. However in the case of chakra based projectiles like these, after exhaling exit from the point of release there is no real control over the projectiles. The direction you've launched is where it will go and it could be very easy to avoid them with basic techniques that could move you out of the line of fire, like Earth Release Technique or the popular hurricane fist into the air. There is the problem of the rapid fire projectiles. As said previously, as you're allowed to fire multiple shots from certain techniques, yet they don't all have the power of that particular rank, their collective power combined = the rank of the technique as a whole. What this means is, as you divide the projectiles into several shots, they considerably get weaker allowing for your opponent to exploit the weakness. Some techniques may converge at a single point (usually the target) so that they may not be able to avoid harm by just attacking individual shots, there is still that possibility. Those who try to cover a wider range with more projectiles will leave themselves at a disadvantage. The opponent can protect just their frontal or the area of where they're attacking by using weaker attacks protect against individually weaker fireballs or fire projectiles. Another big disadvantage is this method is that these techniques aren't very prone to combos with other techniques, especially those of other elements. The projectiles are generally so compressed and dense that they explode on contact, preventing them from melting or heating earth that could be used in a combo with them. The sheer concept of a projectile makes it less prone to be comboed with wind or lightning as the projectiles would require insane precision to be comboed with a wind or lightning technique. Projectiles aren't also very usable with water for the same reason as earth as the projectiles would simply "rupture" and not deliver its effect due to the small time in contact with the combo technique. The main disadvantages are that projectiles are fast yes, but less versatile in combat and for the most part, easy to defend

Well, this all was written by Scorps/Reborn/Lili, so yea. I could've added my own stuff, but they covered everything and have proper writing skills. <_< Since, all the projectile techniques are already taught to you, quiz time!

Suppose, I exhale 5 bullets of water, and the technique is A-Ranked. What rank is each projectile?

A particular rank is made up of two other respective ranks, obviously lower than the rank itself. Example, B rank+B rank makes up to A rank technique. Going by this logic, I come to conclusion that each of projectiles you shot are C ranked.

Not really. I was just testing you. Your answer is correct. Let me breakdown:

D+D = C
C+C = B
B+B = A
A+A = S
S+S = Strong S

Capiche?
Now, the A ranked jutsu is divided into 5 projectiles.
Disregard the 5th one and assume it's 4 projectiles.
What would be the rank of each? In this case, it's easy; C+C+C+C, since C+C = B and B+B = A.
Here's the tricky part; the 5th projectile. If you look logically, the rank of the 5th one should be D or even weak D, i.e. 4C+1D.
However, for RP sake, Scorps has ruled that, the rank of every one of them will be C, i.e. 5C, according to the logic of equal division of chakra. So, TL;DR, your guess was correct.

Streams are basically the opposite of projectiles. Streams are released from one's body, meaning they constantly are supplied with chakra, which makes them go as far as the chakra supports, and also changing trajectory via the synchronization of user's head tilting from side to side. Because they are fueled with chakra, it's impossible to perform another technique. This is the only downside of streams. But the case changes if you have clones or allies. Anotehr thing, is that streams require less shape manipulation than projectiles, and they usually cover a wide range, vairies though. You can choose to release a narrow, jet-like stream, wide stream etc.

So, this is how streams are created:

Method 2: Streams/Water Sources

This method involves creating constant streams of water as well as creating water sources. What I mean is, the techniques in this method continuously releases water and/or creates such a large mass of water, it provides a suitable water source for you to use other Suiton techniques that do need a source of water. Now what this would mean is, you have to constantly fuel the techniques with your chakra in order to keep the on pour of water coming out or else you will not be able to create the streams or the large masses of water. These techniques don't generally require a large amount of shape manipulation. Some techniques do however most are just you creating a mass of water or stream of water where you would, therefore, simply pour your chakra into the technique and create an unfocused wave of water that travels towards your destination. These techniques also provide you with a wider and, potentially longer, range of reach to your opponents. There is also the granted advantage of control over the technique. As opposed to projectiles, where you release them and their self-sustaining nature takes over and there is no further control from the users, most of these techniques allow for you to manipulate in different general directions to allow you to hit your target even if they move out of the immediate range.
Now, then, tell me the advantages of streams, along with disadvantages, in relation to projectiles.

The biggest advantage yet disadvantage of streams is you constantly feed them with chakra. This would make streams controllable, precisely controllable to say the least. This way, you'd "order" your stream to chase the opponent until it hits/engulfs them. As stated above, they require less chakra and shape manipulation, which is a plus in NW battles. Because you controll them in whatever shape you want, you can release huge streams which block the vision of the opponent and you of course, so you won't be able to locate them, unless you have Dojutsu or Sensory Abilities. Another notable pro, as Scorps or Lili stated, with water streams, you can fill a whole terrain with water. This allows the user to perform technqiues that require existing water only. The downside of streams is you can no longer perform other technique whilst the stream is active. So, if the opponent performs a surprise attack, be it behind you or your sides, you must immediately cancel your stream, and focus on defensive. This would mean the chakra you put on the stream would be basically wasted.

Advantages Of Streams

As stated, these techniques give one a greater range of control over the technique seeing as the user will be constantly pouring their chakra into a continuous stream. As the technique is being released it can change the original path you have and make it go other places in the event your opponent tries to avoid it or blocking it with an obstruction. Another major advantage is the fact that some of these techniques are capable of creating water sources. With a large enough technique from this method creating a water source it opens up several more techniques in the element that requires a water source. This, of course, only applies when there isn’t any water already available to you.

Disadvantages to Method

The biggest disadvantage to this method is that, like all streams, these techniques prevent you from using another technique while this technique is currently active. The reason is, these techniques require you to constantly fuel them with chakra and thereby drawing your focus into them for the duration of the technique. If somebody goes for a different angle which requires you to defend, you’ll likely have to end the technique pre-maturely.
Moving on. Open the jutsu list and list all techs that fall under the "streams" method. Obviously, I won't teach the ones already taught to you. This is to test your knowledge over the understanding of streams.

Description: This defensive jutsu creates a wall of water around the user. The user will use the following hand seals to activate the technique Tiger β†’ Snake β†’ Rat β†’ Snake β†’ Tiger. Enemy attacks are completely intercepted by a fence of water blown out from the mouth, and is raised from below with tremendous might. The water is blown out in the form of a circle around the user, and it makes for a defence without openings. It is also possible for the user to control the amount of water and duration at will. Furthermore, because the field of vision is maintained even while defending one can easily go on to the next move, which is a great advantage. The wall can also be formed from a pre-existing water source.

Description: The user will clap his hands and slam them on the ground, streaming an incredibly rapid stream of water through it, creating a large pool of water beneath the opponent to form, that gushes upwards in a burst, lifting the opponent high into the air. The user does the Bird β†’ Dog β†’ Snake β†’ Rat hand seals after his opponent is mid air, using the water pool to shoot up to 8 small water bullets, designed to further raise the opponent into the air, disorient him and damage him. The water bullets gather above the opponent after hitting and passing through his position and form into a water dragon which then attacks the target, grabbing it in its jaws and forcefully bringing it crashing into the ground. The dragon comes down from above the target, bites the target and coils down, towards the ground, crushing the target between the ground and the now incredible mass of falling water. Tobirama Senju does this technique with his own specific hand seals, similar to how he does some other water techniques. Despite long and seemingly complex, the technique is quite fast to perform and trigger.

(Suiton: Ukojizai no Jutsu) - Water Style: Rain Tiger at Will Technique

Description: A perception ninjutsu, allowing one to freely manipulate rain infused with the user's own chakra after waving the Bird β†’ Rat β†’ Ox β†’ Monkey β†’ Rat β†’ Snake hand seals. The rain falls from rain clouds, formed with the users own chakra. During this technique, the falling raindrops are closely linked to the users senses. When the rain is obstructed by a chakra belonging to someone the existence of the target can be detected. The rain will keep on falling until the user uses the seal to cancel it.

This falls under method 5; specifics. Meaning, it's still a Suiton jutsu, but it is special and unique, since it creates Rain clouds unlike Suiton jutsus. This is not a projectile, since you can't "throw" or "fling" the falling rain at your opponent, unless you possess the Rain element, lawl.

While the targets are trapped in the water, their chakra will slowly be drained away. The water vortex can be sustained and controlled for up to two turns as long as the user keeps the dog hand seal made.

Ninjas with a primary water specialty will be able to produce up to an S-Rank technique; ninjas with a secondary water specialty will be able to produce up to an A-Rank technique; normal water masters will produce the basic B-Rank technique. Tobirama was able to use this technique with a single hand seal showing testiment to his skill in water ninjutsu.

Good. Technique time, for method 2. My training method doesn't require templates. You just perform the techniques and ask questions, if any.

For this specific technique, you weave the Tiger β†’ Snake β†’ Rat β†’ Snake β†’ Tiger string of handseals and gather a good amount of chakra in your gullet, effectively converting it into Water natured chakra. Then, you channel it to your gullet and exhale water, in the form of a continuous stream. As the water is exhaled, you skillfully manipulate to form a circular like shape, basically a circular fence which can intercept attacks coming toward you. Now, this is advantageous, since your field of vision isn't hindered, as the stream is exhaled in a circular shape. You can also use this to intercept Taijutsu users and push them away from you, however, you risk electrocution, since your chakra is still connected to the technique. Downsides are the no. of handseals required, but the usefulness of the technique makes it up. Alternatively, you can use existing water in a water source to inject your chakra and manipulate it to form a defensive wall of sorts, in the same way. The best way is to use this technique as a water source for other water techniques(credits to Scorps for his usage in this way in a BT).

Next up, it's a variation of the Exploding Water Colliding Wave you learnt. You weave the Ram handseal and gather Water chakra in your gullet, channeling it to your mouth. You then spit out a humongous torrent of water from your mouth, which forms gigantic waves in seconds. This is one of my favorite techniques for offense, defense as well as supplementary usages. If the opponent is caught in the waves, he immediately drowns due to the volume of water involved. Once the waves are formed, you can ride atop them, and use it as an offense or a counter. Also, you can form the gathered water into a giant orb, which covers a tremendous area. This can be used to suffocate and kill the opponent, if he doesn't react in time.
