A genjutsu doesn't mean only with eye contact. (While I get your implication that in itachi's case it does, in actuality sharingan genjutsu are doujutsu)

Izanami was clearly explained and had a basis is shinto religion as well as a connection to izanagi. It was the furthest thing from an asspull. Don't be upset because Itachi and Sasuke were the ones to win their battle.

Actually it does make sense about the whole Izanami and Izanagi thing, but whatever. Yeah, the situation was convenient, but then again how many other fights had convenient justu's used in them at the certain moment needed? It really isn't a plothole though. People need to go look that word honestly :vincent: it didn't contradict the plot at all.

Kabuto was immune to auditory and visually stimulated genjustu due to his body being able to take in vibrations and his eyes cornea being blocked out.

Izanami bypasses all sense in exchange for the eye its a kinjustu not a genjustu and therefore not a plot hole

This is correct, but hey at least it was better for kabuto to lose like this instead of him being used to show off sasuke's EMS but it was still a plot device and we most likely will never see it again.

^^^ people use this piece of shit excuse to try and justify the asspull that is izanami. the purpose of izanami doesn't even make sense.. its made to counter izanagi but izanagi can do nothing but bring you back to life at the cost of an eye... why would you need a counter for something so unnecessary that also costs you an eye..? how can one even go made with power with izanagi you can only use it twice at most.. the **** does it need a counter for beside by the time you finish preparing izanami they already lost an eye xD
