Was Pain the best villain?

Honestly Kishi did everything right with Pain. His attitude, the god-complex, his looks, powers, and his damn theme song (best imo).

And how Nagato's story all fall into that and Jiraiya's Death, just perfect!

Imo, Pain Arc > Every other arc. Things just went down hill from there.

And Pain/Nagato looked boss with Rinnegan, didn't fit Madara and Obito.

He should have been the final villain.

If it weren't for his redemption then he would be the greatest villain without any contest. Though his sudden shift in beliefs does take points away. I'd say he, Orochimaru, and Tobi can all be pitted against each other for Naruto's greatest villain.

LOL Madara was a shitty villain and im talking BEFORE he was revealed as Zetsu's pawn (a reveal which destroyed his character completely)

I personally think he was. He had a connection with the main character, plus all the things you mentioned. IMO even his defeat was good, if he was killed, it would have defeated the whole purpose of the 'finding peace' thing. TNJ was actually necessary for Nagato...although I still don't know how to feel about him reviving everyone, it probably would have just been better if he died because he was exhausted from the fight before they started talking.
