Am i the only one who does not give a shit about Hinata's development when it comes to such matter? Neji had more potential than giving a fangirl a shot to have talk to her crush.

And she did not even developed that much. She is the same little fangirl who revolves around a boy and does not give a damn to others except for that boy. This abomination did not even closed Neji's eye for respect it would take a second ffs yet she did not give that second to rushing up to Naruto. Not to mention the hand comment. Horribly written.

Tim Jamison? Is that you?

tbh there was no reason for Kishi to kill off Neji, nothing progressed after his death. Kishi killed him simply to show that K11 can die :p

No i am his friend we share similar thoughts at the matter of Hinata.
The word "abomination" is a result of his influence though. It fits perfectly.

Characters who NEEDED to die this arc:

-Kakashi Hatake
-Killer Bee
-Might Guy

People who didn't:
-Neji

Why did these three need to die?

Sry but he was, he had 0 development since part 1.

He had more development IN part 1 than, well, ANYONE outside Team 7, apart from Gaara. Maybe.

Why did these three need to die?

Basically, some sacrifices were needed to up the stakes and raise tension but instead we just got the anticlimactic death of a character who wasn't really involved in the events going on at all.

Kakashi has been high on Kishi's hitlist for a while now. He's already died once and it's clear Kishi only brought him back to be part of this arc and so it'd be a perfect ending to his sad life and to the end of this arc that Obito kills Kakashi or they both die together. His death would be a perfect bookend to this arc.

Guy and Killer Bee are just both characters who have been here since the start of the battle too. They both had their chances to be awesome and have an awesome exit chapter before dying with smiles on their faces. It could've been either one of them. Seeing Killer Bee going out rapping with style or finally seeing the full 8 Gates would be fantastic but we don't. Now they're just awkwardly standing around watching because the Hokages showed up too early and stole their thunder.

It wasn't essential, but a death had to happen for Naruto's development. Naruto until that point had been incredibly idealistic and needed to learn that he can't save everyone physically and he has to overcome that simple mentality which he did by allowing his friends to live on in his heart. Throw in the fact that it helps Hinata slightly and trolls the fanbase, it was a useful death.

However, the execution was disgraceful, Kishi apparently wanted to kill Neji for a while so he either hated that guy or that was a lie because it was rushed and we didn't get any added background or relevance to Neji to make the death affect us and it was pretty unbelievable: He was killed by toothpick. No one was angrier than I was at that chapter because Neji was my third favourite at that point but someone had to die, and he was the best option at that point.

I don't think Neji's death was needed for any plot in the story or character development..I honestly believe Kishimoto jus wanted someone to die for the purpose of drama..I wish Neji hadn't died I liked the character
