By the end of the Manga, Hinata basically replaced Sakura as the main Heroine.

In my opinion, the whole plot felt quite forced because someone like Hinata suddenly becomes this important person and is directly related to Hamura, they should have mentioned this in the war to at least make it credible.

Also something that really bothered me was Naruto being completely clueless about the Sage because why did Sai and Shikamaru have this knowledge on Hagoromo, when Naruto actually met the man himself and literally learned the whole history. Like Sai really!!!! out of all the people how the hell does he know about when the Sage entered priest hood WTF.

Rather than forced i would call it rushed...that movies needed sort of an epilogue or setup to be fully canon i guess. it left a lot to be imagined/ considered on viewer's point of view. I would have liked it better if there were a few episodes or maybe like a few specials to prelude it so it would have been better set up. The chapter 700 of the manga and the Last movie had too many dots to be connected in between

This. And NH was meant to be from the beginning of the manga. That Naruto would fall in love with the Byakugan Princess and marry her, not some clanless fodder.
