In my opinion, the whole plot felt quite forced because someone like Hinata suddenly becomes this important person and is directly related to Hamura, they should have mentioned this in the war to at least make it credible.

Also something that really bothered me was Naruto being completely clueless about the Sage because why did Sai and Shikamaru have this knowledge on Hagoromo, when Naruto actually met the man himself and literally learned the whole history. Like Sai really!!!! out of all the people how the hell does he know about when the Sage entered priest hood WTF.

Yes, Tenseigan should have never been a thing and Hamura's power should have been everything Kakashi and Neji said Byakugan users are capable of

How do you except a canon movie to not be forced when the main relationship in the manga between sasuke and naruto is quite forced?

we couldn't let our main boy not get laid in a very overly and cheesey way.

Yes it was forced! I called B.S. on the movie. Trying to clear up and tie together plot holes using a movie, when the series is a MANGA, was already a HUGE pull. The fact that it felt like a lot of stuff that could have been sprinkled throughout the manga, without interrupting the pacing, is what made me dislike the movie.

If they were written in a way Hunter x Hunter did it could have worked. That "we became best friends," line was such B.S. I was like, when did this happen? Off panel?

I agree. If Kishi would have introduced the Tenseigan around the time Rinnegan was introduced or placed it and Hamura's existance toward the beginning of the war then maybe it wouldn't have felt so forced.

Also, if Hinata was so important than why wasn't she on Team 7 instead of Sakura? I mean she is a direct descendant of Hamura, the Sage of 6 paths' brother and she had little skill and even smaller relevance in the grand scheme of things until The Last. It that wasn't forced I don't know what is.

Sasuke and Naruto have kissed on the lips before. How were they not best friends?

Neji should have been the chosen one, he was a prodigy with the talent of a main branch member, but then he was nerfed and reduced to Hinata's level because of Kishi's obsession with Uchiha :(

Ugh, so true. If anyone should have been Hamura's descendant it should have definitely been Neji. It would have played in perfectly with breaking the chains of destiny thing he had going on as a support branch member, having him rise above the rest. Awakening the Tenseigan could have removed the seal on his forehead instead of dying by flying sticks :(

I agree, so many plot holes in this movie.

forced as oppose to Sakura becomes Sasuke's wife?

Or that apparently she is Sarada's birth mother?

I don't think it's forced but rather rushed.

Like the whole BS with Naruto going from "Wait? There's a person called Hinata?" to "yeah, I love her now" in 5 mins.

That bothered me lots.

In the case of "importance" well we know that Hyuga's are related to Oostustuki and that Hamura is the one that had the byakugan out of the 2 Rikudou Senin. The fact that Hyuga is also part of the main branch gives her importance.

Sure since her ancestors left the moon, possibly to avoid the moon wars, that made them invalid to be royalty.

However, they became relevant once more when the ENTIRE main family was annihilated by the branch family.

Thus making the Hyuga Clan the last remaining royal family. One of the inheritor of Hamura's legacy.

That part was not forced. Toneri on the other hand and the entire moon saga was a bit forced, because we were introduced to it and the explanation on spanned in 2 mins.
