Was our main hero forgiving Obito justified? I would say, partly yes.
Killing Obito wouldn't bring back everyone he killed, maybe Rinne Tensei would, but Madara interrupted it for his own purpose, which is a different story.
Obito set forth Kyuubi loose on Konoha, making many children orphans, etc. He also was responsible for Minato and Kushina's deaths and the sealing of Kurama in Naruto. He was the true leader of Akatsuki, and killed Fuu and Torune. Not to mention the slaughter fest of Mist Ninjas, which was somewhat justified. Also, killed Neji and a large part of the alliance with Mokuton Sashiki. Used the Shinju to turn a major part of the shinobi alliance into skeletons.
Holding grudges or revenge in oneself doesn't lead to anything good. Naruto turned from a whiny brat into a mature shinobi who had the quality of forgiving his enemy.
Sure, in the real world, you don't shake hands with a terrorist and bring him to the bright side.
Kishi's idea was right, but the way he executed was poor. He should've shown Naruto still pissed towards Obito and treat him like shit, the same way Naruto's blood was boiling at seeing Nagato. He should've shown this until Obito's death, wherein he sacrificed himself for saving Naruto and Sasuke from Kaguya's Ash Killing Bones, and then maybe after the timeskip, Naruto finally forgiving Obito. This would be more realistic. You can't simply forget a killer who murdered your parents and forgive him with a handshake. What Kishi showed was too "utopian" and "idealistic".
Thoughts? :3
