Was our main hero forgiving Obito justified? I would say, partly yes.
Killing Obito wouldn't bring back everyone he killed, maybe Rinne Tensei would, but Madara interrupted it for his own purpose, which is a different story.

Obito set forth Kyuubi loose on Konoha, making many children orphans, etc. He also was responsible for Minato and Kushina's deaths and the sealing of Kurama in Naruto. He was the true leader of Akatsuki, and killed Fuu and Torune. Not to mention the slaughter fest of Mist Ninjas, which was somewhat justified. Also, killed Neji and a large part of the alliance with Mokuton Sashiki. Used the Shinju to turn a major part of the shinobi alliance into skeletons.

Holding grudges or revenge in oneself doesn't lead to anything good. Naruto turned from a whiny brat into a mature shinobi who had the quality of forgiving his enemy.
Sure, in the real world, you don't shake hands with a terrorist and bring him to the bright side.

Kishi's idea was right, but the way he executed was poor. He should've shown Naruto still pissed towards Obito and treat him like shit, the same way Naruto's blood was boiling at seeing Nagato. He should've shown this until Obito's death, wherein he sacrificed himself for saving Naruto and Sasuke from Kaguya's Ash Killing Bones, and then maybe after the timeskip, Naruto finally forgiving Obito. This would be more realistic. You can't simply forget a killer who murdered your parents and forgive him with a handshake. What Kishi showed was too "utopian" and "idealistic".
Thoughts? :3

I made this thread ages ago . The response of Majority of the NB was overwhelming . Of Course Not !!

But I have to appreciate in Obito's Character is that he tried to bring down the fire which he already tried to Burn the house .

The entire point of the manga is Redemption . So Kishi had to show this message .

Compassion .
You said something in my thread some time ago . I feel your Word just Soloed my entire Post i made . Good to see you back Friend .

The difference between Nagato and Obito's case is Kishi liked Obito more, simple as that. Naruto put his differences aside long enough to call Obito an ally. Kishi needed Obito to defeat Kaguya, he put too much importance on his abilities. Nagato was fodder by Kishi's standards compared to Obito.

ofcourse not, he killed his parents and started the 4th worldwar because of a 13 year old kid.

Mhm, debatable.

"Forgave", as in accepted him back, as a villager of Konoha. It isn't that easy.

I tought the point of the story was : if you aint born in a good family you aint worth a shit ...

Sadly, it is the case.

In real life:no
But shouen manga standards:yes

Too idealistic. <_>
Just when, people started connecting with morals shown in Naruto.

He never did . But he said Obito was awesome i think people are angry at Naruto saying those words.

Nah, I didn't misinterpret what Naruto said to Obito, referring to him as awesome.

It wasn't his place to forgive Obito for what he did, and it certainly wasn't justified.

He forgave him because he loves him. He is inspired by Obito. Obito is a hero Naruto can look up to.

Of Course i read your Post agreed what you said ,I do think Obito never should have got Empathy but considering the theme of the story Kishi made Obito a redemmed Character in front of Naruto .

Obito had more Parallel to Naruto in so many ways only think he gone astray and Naruto never became like him .

I can say if Obito was not forgived he would never go to Pure World and will be middle of worlds like Sakumo to relieve him of his Sins . I do think Naruto did Right think to feel Empathy rather than feeling sorry for him .

In short, you mean plot, eh? Have to agree there. Nagato's change in behaviour seems more logical imo.

It wasn't his place to forgive Obito for what he did, and it certainly wasn't justified.

What would he do with holding hatred and grudges? He would be the same as any other ordinary ninja then.

He forgave him because he loves him. He is inspired by Obito. Obito is a hero Naruto can look up to.

Hero? Lol, nothing Obito did was "heroic". Certainly, he isn't a role model.

Even the harshest of the criminals deserve empathy, if they repent and regret. Those with no regret deserve no empathy and pity.

This has nothing to do with grudges or hatred. You don't have to hold anything to know what Obito did was wrong and did not deserve to be praised for taking thousands of innocent lives over his lifetime.

Hate and grudges don't even come into play, it's just a matter of not forgiving him or even worse, praising him for his iniquity. He should have reaped what he sew but he didn't.

Good grief, if we hated someone every time they did something wrong, the human race would be extinct.

Yea, I do agree that praising him was totally bs.
Yep, I wasn't totally comfortable with him passing on to the pure world. That was way too idealistic.
