Was naming him uzumaki instead of namikaze really worth it?

The reason for him having the last name Uzumaki was pretty stupid imo. I figured out he was Minato's kid just from looking at Minato for one time. If people really hated Minato, they would've put 2 and 2 together. Naruto looks like Minato, was born the same day Minato died fighting the Kyuubi, is the Kyuubi Jinchuuriki, has the last name Uzumaki, and the previous Jin and Minato's wife(who everyone probably knew) was an Uzumaki and Jin.

Think about it. the reason he was named uzumaki was for his own protection. however, look what it brought naruto. he started off as a fodder character with no name to be compared to (since uzumaki's were pretty much nonexistent). he had no special foster parents protection program, and worst the only thing he was remembered as was a prankster with the kyuubi inside him that was responsible for killing families and nearly destroying the village. which forced naruto into deep depression as a child who had to hide his tears in fake smiles and even went as far to make "best friends" with sasuke uchiha even thou they clearly had absolutely no friendly interaction just because they both were alone, which ultimately made naruto obsessive to bring sasuke back, despite the abuse he has to go through with. lol

on the flip side.
if he was named naruto namikaze, he will be a target by enemies. however at the sametime he would be known by other people including his age group as the son of the hokage. sure, naruto could still be lonely, cause sasuke was also lonely despite having a famous name and people knowing him. but what makes sasuke special is that he HAD those bonds then lost it. naruto is not the same case, he NEVER had any bonds. it can only get better for him, which is exactly what happened. as for the taboo of being known as the host of the kyuubi, yeah that will be a stigma naruto must carry, however at the sametime, he will be embraced as the son of the father who saved the village. it's 50/50. no longer 100% kyuubi stigma. and it's possible that with the name namikaze, he might would've been allowed to be the student of jiraiya much sooner and maybe even learn rasengan at a much earlier time. which could've kept naruto from being the complete goof ball prankster that he was. so tell me, was it worth it?

pro- sarutobi paid his rent

namikaze

pro- son of the 4th hokage, the yellow flash.
pro- son of kushina, (which means he would know she married hokage)
pro- higher chance of making friends as a kid
pro- kyuubi stigma won't be as much of an burden.
pro- make his hokage dream seem more believable
pro- could've had a teacher at a younger age.
pro- the ashura/indra destiny would still happen regardless in some way
pro- possible chance he would've reached KCM sooner than waiting till chapter 500. (minato did)

con- no protection
con- possibility that ashura/indra (naruto/sasuke) would not of had cooperation.

(no, i'm not taking the road of ninja movie as a canonical possibility)

If he had been named Namikaze then it would have made no sense why most of the village didn't know he was the son of the fourth Hokage and hate him.

sarutobi is terrible, he couldn't even stop mizuki from stealing a scroll at the debut of naruto. hell, i'd argue that naruto would've had better protection by danzo if not for the whole capturing and controlling the bijuu at all cost.

that "filler" is not kishimoto's doing. he just did a one shot and nothing more.
highly unlikely that just about every child follows the father's name but not naruto's.

When Kushina came into the village, her name wasn't a well respected and famous name.
At that time, Uzumaki were no more famous, they hid succesfully.
Nowadays, nobody knows about the Uzumaki clan, they only remember Senju Hashirama, and they forgot Mito (who was probably kept hidden because she was a Jinchuriki, explaining why nobody remember her, they didn't know her existence) and Kushina.
Kushina was hidden because she was a Jinchuriki, and then she was hidden because she was pregnant, that may explain why nobody remember Kushina Uzumaki as a boss.

Before the villages, ninjas kept their names as secret as possible, look at Madara and Hashirama relationship.
To make a village, the leaders had to reveal their names so that the ninja village would be known as the alliance of Senju, Uchiha, Sarutobi...
After Tobirama and Hashirama, the Senju clan was famous around the world.
That may be why Tsunade has kept her name hidden (and maybe Jiraiya too, Orochimaru too?).
That may also be why Hiruzen decided to name the kid Naruto Uzumaki, that may be why Hiruzen decided to name Minato "Namikaze" and not the name of his "famous" father (Minato is the only one in the manga with that name, the Namikaze clan is made of: Minato).
Kushina was Yin and had no affinty with Yang, Naruto was said to have Senju genes, what if it is Minato who has the Senju (Yang) genes?

To be fair Gaara's dad didn't single handedly win a war for his village. I imagine Minato might have made fight a few enemies with his shenanigans in the war. That being said, being a the last Uzumaki is even worse. The Uzumakis were afterall wiped,I imagine him being an Uzumaki will put a bigger bounty on his head
