Was Itachi's death planned?

itachi was dying anyway of disease so he decided to die by sasuke's hands and to make him stronger for the sake of plot....

So sasuke would get his "revenge" and finally return to the village

Ill search what i mean, itachi told that is was because he wanted sasuke to be praised as a hero im 100% sure.. wait im gonna search it

Cant find the episode, but if you search google, everywhere you'll read that "by doing so, itachi hoped that sasuke would be praised as a hero".
