Exactly this, itachi planned that sasuke would 'kill' him (even when itachi planned it, sasuke couldn't kill him, he died because of exhaustion) so sasuke would be seen as a hero that killed this strong villain

I think so, which is why I made a thread with manga scans to back it up. Black Zetsu is on some serious troll juice right now, ask Madara.
