Both fame wise and power wise.

He was known by every village,just like the sannin but unlike them itachi was feared by nearly everyone despite being a teenager when he first defected.

Power,he decimated the uchiha clan, put fear in danzo, solo'd deidara, orochimaru, got praised by kakashi and kisame, got praised by hiruzen, got praised by Ao praised by Kabuto got praised by Nagato and lastly got praised by Kaguya's third child black zetsu. This can count for fame as well.

Yes. He embarrassed Orochimaru twice. Once being only like 14-15 years old. And he could easily take on Tsunade I'm guessing. Kind of hard to constantly heal never-ending flames. As for Jiraiya, not as powerful, but on the same tier most likely.

Either way, yes, Itachi was Sannin level.

Everyone who saw him knew who he was immediately and he was notorious as a missing-nin for being in Akatsuki as well as taking a hand in ending the most powerful clan in Konoha. Fame wise, yes.

To be fair, if Orochimaru uses Edo Tensei, we all know he gets roflstomped, and to your above post, Kabuto uses Sound Genjutsu Gg.

Fail, it depends on who orochimaru summons, it can't be the weak Tobirama and Hashirama he summoned vs hiruzen because itachi would have solo'd neg diff. Also only edo hokage are in his summon arsenal and only edo hokage with oro would be able to beat itachi. And that's all based on if orochimaru shows up to the fight already with them summoned and or if itachi doesn't solo him with a genjutsu before he uses edo tensei. Itachi already told him before these eyes all your jutsu fail so that's itachi saying no matter what jutsu you have obtained I can stop you.

As for Kabuto and sound genjutsu, the sound genjutsu Kabuto used didn't even stop itachi completely, he was still able to use susano and resist so you fail.

Dood, current Orochimaru summons the 4 hokage at almost full power, those alone can end Itachi.

It seems you didn't understand my post, I clearly said he has the edo hokage as his summons. Duhhhh

How am I putting it to itachi's favor? I didn't say how the battle would go I stated nobody shows up to a battle at full power that's manga fact and with that being said orochimaru has not changed aside form edo use so if he doesn't show up with the edo already summoned he would get solo'd by genjutsu as has been 2 times already manga fact.

His speed matched kcm naruto who was said to equal ftg minato but that's not what I meant I meant genjutsu as soon as the battle starts 're rather before the battle starts he would lose to genjutsu. He cannot stop visual genjutsu this is a manga fact, itachi solo'd him with genjutsu before he even realized it and sasuke solo'd him with a weak genjutsu. Nobody is underestimating orochimaru i'm stating facts, he needs the edo against itachi.

Orochimaru is clearly smarter than Itachi
He created his own dimension, he's just cocky.
I doubt he'd underestimate Itachi, and he'd make sure not to peer into his eyes (oro has a 5 in genjutsu, he can break finger gen)
