It annoys me that only the Kages were summoned. I would have preferred the previous Akatsuki excluding Obito, and Nagato is obviously sealed so Itachi would have been leading.

I think it was mostly to make a cool panel, but probably for their chakra as well. I mean, summoning all 9 Tailed Beasts and five humans would require an enormous amount of chakra that could not be achieved simply with the four Hokage and what little chakra of Hagoromo was manifested.

Then that would mean that leople take their chakra with them when they die.. with that logic there shouldn't be any left.
