Was Danzo good or bad?

theres know such thing as ,greater good , danzo is scum if itachi just killed him there probly would never have been a coup de tat
. only reason he wanted to protect the leaf was he wanted to be hokage but didnt have the guts or strengh

Danzo should have stayed a bit longer, IMO. He was an incredibly well written character. He's just a man who'd do anything to get what he wants. Whether that be the Hokage seat, or the commander of the SA. Legend.

He didn't seek to control the world nor killed people just because he felt like so he shouldn't be considered 'bad', on the other hand, to protect the ninja world he didn't care about the means necessary to achieve certain results, which is why he shouldn't be considered 'good' either.

Even though he was hokage for the shortest time, his ambitions on peace rivaled Hashirama.

Madara endangers every living thing in the NV. He wants absolute control to achieve peace.

You didn't see obito or madara flinch when he killed Mabui and the others.

Good intentions or not, his ambitions are fueled by anger and strife.

Not being Hokage, his clan disowning him and his brother's death.

Danzo's ambitions are to be hokage and assure peace exists within Konoha alone, and he'd do it by any means.

The world could be in flames and he wouldn't give a damn as long as his people are okay.

OT: Danzo is a well written character in my opinion, though it's hard to really classify anybody as directly good or evil. Views on things such as morality vary from person to person.

true they may not have killed "innocents" but what exactly makes someone innocent?

we dont know the extent of who all has died at they're hands or why.

killing is killing whether it be a good person or a bad person. when you kill someone you dont hurt them,its those who cared for them that suffer. even evil men have someone who loves them.

i still believe kiilling alone dosent make someone bad. dont get me wrong,i dont advocate murder. i just dont see things black and white

At first, I thought he was doing it for the village but he really do some self centered evil crap. Imagine all who eyes he took before they died. Danzo is that type of guy that would steal an Uchiha childs eyes if he wanted them. He's a control freak as you can see at the kage summit. I would pay big money to see how bad Madara would have raped him if he ever showed up.

That's more or less how I see it. But one could say he's a horrible tyrant while another could just as easily say he was a good man. That's what I love about him.
