Year 552 – Sai Inuzuka, the 29th Daijō-daijin, receives envoys from a faraway continent that has no concept of chakra. They depart Chungsu laden with gifts and escorted by shinobi tasked with mapping the mysterious land; none are ever heard from again.
Furthermore, since their migration to Keishi the clan has struck an accord with the nearby Inuzuka Clan, a natural ally due to their somewhat matriarchal disposition, and now enjoy their support both diplomatically and militarily.
So going by these two notes in the history is it safe to say that there might be two factions on Inuzuka? Sai's descendants who might possibly be under the Shogun's command in the Land of Tea, and the actual matriarchal clan itself from the Land of Fire. I'm mostly asking for the sake of my own bio-history.

One important thing I want to ask though. WIll we beable to take control of certain NPC clans and factions be manipulating/capturing the leaders? I think it would be a cool concept, but naturally, the person who attempts this must make sure their clan meets the requirements if they want to subjugate one of the NPC faction leaders, and the leaders themselves would also have to be fairly difficult to battle.

I actually gave some of the people in the lore canon Clan names to show how 'diverse' the Freehold was, without really forcing any of the Canon clans into a 'role' as a whole. I was actually a little hesitant to include the Inuzuka in the faction in your second note, but I thought it would be a cool little extra thing; and of course Inuzuka members are free to describe other 'factions' or indeed legitimate bodies of Inuzuka living elsewhere, with a different history.
But yeah, for your Clan history you're welcome to explore either of these options, or something third. There will be a submission thread for lore and codex entries, so if you write some cool lore for it, submit it there and we can see about having it put into the 'new canon'.

Well, okay, so the idea of the Factions are to act as 'Clans' for people who don't have a Clan. People in Clans are, of course, welcome, and can engage with them exactly as non-clan members can, but still. The Factions will each possess a territory, and their Faction Leaders will be in a physical location in a given LM; the 'headquarters' of the Faction, if so to speak. There they will give out missions to interested people, and completing them for the Faction will 'grow' that particular faction. When the territory starts to overlap you will get missions against the other factions, and in the end one faction will win, at least that's the basic thought.
But yeah, if we can find some people to RP the Faction Leaders we can definitely go more in-depth and let players attempt takeovers/kidnappings/assassinations or whatever they think up.
