I'm rewatching(or trying I should say) the War Arc(before Obito&Madara) and its honestly really hard. Is it just me or does the animation and all seem really PG rated? There is hardly any blood even when the Samurai are getting chopped up. I know Reanimated dont bleed. Or has the show always been this way?

notice how it gets less and less bloody the more the story progresses...![]()
as far as i know, the japanese version of YUGIOH had guns, sexual jokes/harassment and beatings... and i think even people dying. but foxkids (i think) bought all the rights and edited it. but at least they also added some awesome soundtracks, which is imo superior to the japanese ones^^
The Obito scene was so bloody, Studio Pierrot (or however it's spelled) said that they were going to have to censor it and it would be uncensored for the DVD.
Naruto aint Bleach, Naruto is made for young kids >12. So you must not expect blood

Lol right, and I suppose Kabuto and Kakuzu ripping out beating hearts while the bloody mist have their children kill each other before Obito dices them up in a murderous blood rage, Kaguya cocoons everyone and Hidan's body is used as a voodoo doll, can be chopped up and he acts like a masochist when killing someone while shouting every profanity known to man is on par with that of power rangers, am I right?

Did I forget to mention Sasori's human puppets? Orochimaru's snake dimension and transmigrations? How about Tsunade and Naruto being brutally stabbed through the chest several times, Pain using dead bodies as avatars, Deidara blowing people's faces off, Oochimaru ripping them off, Itachi crucifying Kakashi and killing his whole clan including his parents, Kisame biting his tongue off, Sasuke having his chest blown off, hashirama and the sound five's clones Itach, Madara, danzou and shisui ripping eyes out, Shikamaru's arm melting in a genjutsu...I could go on and on.
You would be amazed at what authors can get away with in children's stories these days, an example of how the world is changing is the movies the Watchmen, once upon a time that movie would have been rated X now it was rated R.
Or The Dark Knight, which was rated PG 13, once upon a time that movie would have been rated R, same with Dark Knight Rises.
I read a series of novels called the Heroes of Olympus, they were intended for children but they now include dirty jokes and a great deal of violence. Heck look at the Harry Potter series, that is classified as a children's series and the later books get a increasingly dark tone.
That's not much of a difference.
Lol nothing in those two films qualifies as R.
Those changes were intended due to the characters growing up and the story becoming darker.
I recall reading the studio was catching some shit for some of the stuff it was animating like Obito's bloodbath scene. And even Kishi has been pushing the limits and told to bring it back since the target audience of Shounen Jump is ~13 year old kids.
Be glad we've gotten what we have.
Nothing qualifies as R rated in those movies TODAY, once upon a time that would be a very different story.
Haven't you seen the old black and white movies, look at the old Dracula and Frankenstein movies, they had to keep the violence at a minimum because of what was considered appropriate.
Some children's stories are quite dark, for example famous ones like Hansel and Gretal involve cooking someone alive.Nothing qualifies as R rated in those movies TODAY, once upon a time that would be a very different story.

Now look at today's horror films, murder and massive amounts of gore, what qualifies as R rated and really any rating has changed drastically.
Its the same with children's stories, what is considered appropriate is changing as the world changes.
