It was already explained. What you're thinking of is a widely thought of misconception. The eyes don't come together at all. The person implanting rids themselves of their blind eyes that have no light and replace them with the donor's eyes. That becomes the new light. It takes the shape of the donor's eyes and the user's old MS shape combined (just look at Madara's MS and Izuna's and Madara's EMS shape is them together, likewise for Sasuke's because of Itachi's eyes). The user's chakra attunes itself to the eyes of their brothers and as such, a new light is born.
