It was never stated that he couldn't travel to kamui. He couldn't "let things pass through him" which isn't the same as just going to kamui, for instance like how when he traveled to the kamui dimension when he had to save naruto.
Obviously both techniques take him to kamui but Apparently, in different ways.
We can tell this b/c his "intangibility" (quotes b/c it's not really intangibility) is instant while when he travels the other way it takes some time.

He's either not going to post, or post the scan where Obito becomes the jin. However, there are no actual Kamui lines on the juubi, it doesn't Spiral. and in the first one, it is being absorbed into Obito's body, not his eye.

I'm sorry, where does it say that he used Kamui to hold the Juubi? Plus, when he becomes immaterial he sends part of his body to the other dimension, which he stated he cannot do it anymore so it would be logical that Madara couldn't send half of his body. So really, either an explaination is coming up or serious plothole here.
