Look at the fight again, I meant Naruto was watching the Leader with his MS ability when he used his "son" as a shield. Naruto didn't seem to know about the telekinesi, in the sense of being 100%. They confirmed it after.

He had a flashback of his eariler fight.He knew that they could warp these objects around freely from their earlier fight.He just wasnt sure of it ,But he still knew of their powers

What he didn't know was that they could freely manipulate everyone else's metallic weapons.

Are people really blaming Naruto for a mistake that was not his fault?

What was Naruto doing throughout the chapter? Standing besides Sarada and making sure she wouldn't get hurt. What was Sasuke doing? Fighting on the front lines against the Akatsuki Leader, both of them were doing their jobs, right? It all started to slowly whither when the Akatsuki Leader gained an advantage by touching Sasuke's sword. Basically he gained an ace in the hole.

When the sword impaled Naruto, thanks to them not having full intel on his abilities, Sarada was left open for attack. There really isn't anyone to blame aside from being overconfident and underestimating their opponent. But imagine a sick turn of events if the Akatsuki Leader decided to stab Sarada instead of Naruto.

Could he have done more? Well yeah, for one he could of created a shadow clone to watch Sarada or to fight the Akatsuki leader instead of being stagnate. It's a bit of shame that every character in Team 7 has fought Shin (any Version) without babysitting a child, except Naruto (Sasuke Chapter 2, and Sakura just now). Though I think people are harshly judging these "nerfs" a bit unfairly.

Same goes with Sasuke, he wasn't thinking straight and he plunged straight into the enemy without assessing their skills and abilities and learned only through failure (after Naruto was stabbed). Not to mention he had to repent his mistake by sacrificing his own body (albeit not damaged severely) still though for some reason he could not even use hisS/T jutsu to teleport himself and Sarada, and then dodge the spikes with his own speed/shunshin.


What do you think? Did I assess this right? Please no fanboyism, at least try to cooperate and think clearly with me here.

It wouldn't be that bad. Naruto could just give her a cloak and she's healed.

Logically, Naruto could actually give her a certain amount of his chakra and watch the villain get beaten by Sarada.

for real, naruto had his guard down cuz sasuke told him to stand back and protect the kids so his focus was completely off fighting and on staying by sarada to keep her safe so yeah, he didn't see it coming. and they completely underestimated the opponent, which also brought their guard down.

however, sasuke has rinnegan.. i can truly understand naruto getting stabbed with that surprise attack.. besides his guard being down, he would never have expected sasuke or sasuke's sword to be a threat so i can understand that. but Sasuke did not have to jump in front of sarada and take those hits.. why does he refuse to use susanno? or shinra tensei? knocks away all the weapons flying at him, knocks away opponents.. and he could have used Bansho Tenin to get sakura..

but yeah, they really weren't on their game, but i'd hardly call it a nerf, just a poor display of their power and their battle skills.
next time they fight it'll different for real lol. but that dude's power is a pain, to have weapons constantly flying at you and in big numbers, but sasuke can block them all with susanoo so really it'll be a bigger pain for naruto lol

Sasuke didn't encountered with Shin's MS ability so he is hardly to blame, just as Davos wasn't aware of the wild fire.

Naruto on the other hand did encountered it but didn't tried to analyze it. This alone shows the difference between Minato and Naruto. Father and son yet so different, Kamui was way more complex yet Minato figured the basics easily and dealt with enemy accordingly. As a leader, Naruto should've been smarter about this. At least Sasuke has an excuse such as it was his first time witnessing that power.

Naruto actually did try to analyze it, and yes Sasuke is here to share some of the blame. He should never have rushed at the opponent without testing his abilities and understanding what he can do, which led to them being tricked when he touched Sasuke's sword.

Naruto never had an understanding of what he did, he saw it once. After he gets striked, he confirms the ability himself out loud and then Sasuke looks back on his fault where he let the Leader touch his sword. A lot of nasty this chapter imo.
