If power came from the Shinju Tree, aka chakra, and Kaguya was the first person to eat the fruit.

What would she need an army for, and how is that person strong? I feel like an asspull is coming, because not even Hagoromo/Hamura knew of this threat.

I remember watching an anime long time ago.. It was kinda lame but anyway, there were two divine trees. One is good and other is evil. They keep fighting for all eternity and stuff. I think that will be something like that, Shinju's counterpart will be the enemy.

But hagaromo and hamura did know a bit about him. They knew that kaguya needed an army to face him. They just had other problems to deal with. Also, you will notice kaguya has the byakugan. I do not believe that comes from eating the fruit( only the sharingan on her forehead). In which case, some kind of power may have existed even before chakra.

I don't trust Hagaromo. I think he is lying. I bet Indra think he is lying too and was gonna confront him about it so he made Ashura the leader before his death.

She was against killing naruto and sasuke at first, because she knew that she would need their chakra in the future. Add that to the fact that she was building an army, then its not that hard to see that she was going to wage war against an enemy. Her enemy was probably somebody from her old world. Keep in mind that she is from another world.

Hagoromo and Hamura didn't even know about the Zetsu's...It is unconfirmed whether Kaguya had Byakugan from eating the fruit.

She traveled from nv world from another world. It's not that hard to believe that her original world also used some form of energy.
