I also noticed that IT wasn't going they way he described it, but I figured it and he weren't done just yet. Wanting/needing kaguya's full power and having the tree blossom a fruit again and taking care of naruto and sasuke.
Wait a minute.... this isn't the IT Madara described to Obito....

I'm not really sure he knew how IT worked he just gave that explanation to obito in order to win him over. Think about it he didn't know about Kaguya or Hagaromo's brother. He didn't know that someone else made BZ.
Its not that someone else made BZ, he just wasn't aware that BZ inherited Kaguya's will rather than his. Perhaps he didn't know how IT really worked.... but he had already won Obito over at that point anyway. He probably just lied to him so that Obito wouldn't realize everyone would be enslaved in the real world.
Not saying you did.
OT: I wonder if maybe its because if everybody was in the same dream, then it wouldn't be perfect. Like Kiba is Hokage, but what if someone else wanted to be Hokage. Maybe the thing to take out of it is that, there is no such thing as a perfect world unless you are getting what you want.
