"Vs. Threads" An epidemic?

It seems like every five minutes a Vs. Thread is made. Most of the time it's the same members posting them or it's a new member posting these threads.

It's a waste of space on the "Latest Thread" section and quickly kicks a reasonable and interesting thread off its spotlight.

I'm just suggesting that these threads go in the same category as "6th Coffin" threads. I know I'm not the only member on this forum who feels these threads are overrunning the forums currently.

Your not, actually my good friend made a forum very similar to this, EVERY 5mins u got the same ppl askn stupid Vs threads. and ppl askn the same THING! Jariya Vs Minato or Pain Vs. Nagato. Sauske Vs. hidan Stupid shit, i say if anything banned repeated threads or give that its OWN personal section

Well, there's already a section for V/S threads now. Even I was tired of those at one time, but now, I simply does not enter or barely go to that V/S section since I've understood its lameness.

I think, it's clear now. Post theories in the Manga section and V/S threads in the V/S threads section. I know it's a problem but like you said it's an epidemic. If an epidemic have no remedy yet, the "healthy" people should just keep away from the site of "infected" ones to prevent propagation.

If you don't like V/S threads, don't go to those sections and if you see some V/S threads in some other section, just report it to be moved to the V/S section.

I just find it annoying when I look at the latest threads and all I see is Vs. Threads. It's getting overpopulated with those.

Well first, the vs threads used to be in the naruto discussion section and then people complained because of it being annoying and everything else you explained. It got to the point of which people started to suggest that the forums had a section for Vs threads so that everyone who liked those threads could run off and post in them without bothering the people that just wanted to discuss the anime/manga and was causing a slight conflict. It was suggested several times that it should be given it's own section and after the admins took it into consideration it was finally given it's own section. So, really it doesn't need to be moved as it's in a proper place that won't do any damage. It has it's own section so if you don't like vs threads then you don't have to visit that section. Now, if it's a bout how vs threads are usually pushed to the top where if you browse the forum page and see the "Naruto Discussion" section and look to the right and see a vs thread then that won't really change because that's where vs threads usually were kept. Also, it's common for most sections on the forum that hold sub forums for that to happen so it's not going to change. Then again, I'm not entirely sure as to what your question is.

It'd be interesting if you could set a filter for what can appear on your Latest Threads list so you could elect which forum types are displayed but that would prove problematic in some ways. On second thought it'd have to be done on sub-forum because Vs Threads are included in the general Naruto Discussion forum.

I think what he is suggesting is that any thread posted in the Vs section should not appear on the latests thread section.

So telling him to stay clear of that section is pretty pointless if he is looking at whats recently been posted in considering how Vs threads fill that part up pretty quickly...

i don't think the vs threads are the problem, because lets face it, we all at one point wanted to hear someones opinion on a Naruto fight that most likely will never happen. but the miscategorization is what is annoying people

I hate VS threads, they utterly disgust me and I really can't apprehend what people find so good about them. Especially because half of the makers don't even check their own threads =/ I've seen people who keep posting those threads in the wrong section and don't even notice that I moved their own threads -_-

Posting ridiculous VS threads and VS threads about Naruto and non-Naruto characters are already forbbiden and I'm planning to forbid VS threads in non-Naruto sections to avoid getting them also polluted.

However posting them in one thread, as I think that's what you suggesting, is not an option. An average VS thread has between 10-20 posts, but they can easily reach hundreds of post and you want them in one thread? That's like saying you want to discuss an entire manga in one thread. VS threads are way to divers to place in one thread. VS threads is just a global name for countless different topics, that's different from 6th coffin threads where you just discuss who could be possibly in there. That's a clear topic which you can easily talk about in one thread. But that doesn't work with VS threads, it would cause more harm than good.

We made a VS threads section in the first place so that those things wouldn't be all over NB and wouldn't disturb the people who don't want to see them. It's the best solution at this point, if we would start forbidding them, it would result in countless of infractions and bans.

However if your problem is just the hottest thread, it might be possible to make it so that threads from the VS threads section do not appear in that list. I think that's possible, but an admin is needed for that.

I was actually going to suggest if it's possible for them not being shown in the hot threads.

I think that would be best way, with the possibility of the threads not becoming as big as they are now, seeming that most members won't see it.

I know for a fact that alot of the members that post those verse thread are only looking for the numbers of post in their threads.Then they later complain after it's been deleted, saying that it had so and so numbers in their threads (that's provided that it was deleted).
