I want to install Vista but the problem is iDK what is so different than XP and of course i heard you need 1 GB RAM to install it so all games that i played in HIGH should work on Medium barely so i want to know what its the difference and what does it have and can it support the newest software

Vista has easier functions in control panel
the windows works faster compared XP (try just copying a file)
u'll see how much faster it is
Better graphics
More proffessional and effecient system
and to tell the truth its best used with laptops

vista is slower than XP... and if u copy a file it isnt the OS(oprating system) that depends... it is just the disk.(how fast the disk and CPU is)
Vista take aloot of memory. so to say it... i would just use vista to media. not games or hard stuff like HD movies and RAW HD editing.

Vista have something called directX 10.(it will get beather grafic) it is esensial to play newer games(they run on 9 tooo). XP ordinarily just come with directX 9.0c(most used today but 10 is comming fast) but u can uppgrade it to 10. hope u understand so far XP

and the new Widows that is still in Beta.. is preatty good. it is Widows 7. it dosn`t use as much ram as Vista. and it is more usable to games. tough u can only download the beta until 20 aug.

and if u still want to use vista i recomend u to get more ram. u need atlast 4gs to run it smoth.

so if u are in to games and stuff like that... u sugest u get XP or Widows 7.(i can link it) but if u still want to use Vista i recomedn du to get more ram. but if u get 4gs... the PC still cant use it all:p (gets complicadet agen)

bc a 32bit vista or wathver OS u use. u cant use more that 3.5gs or somthing like that. if u want more RAM(up to 32gs) u gotta get 62bit. but then u cant use all the 32bit software u have:p

But in the end... get more ram... that is the most important factor of the PC after the CPU and grafick card

PS: Vista dont have beather grafic.. that is the gamemaker who deside :p)

here is the link for widows 7 (it is wery good i have used it for a half year now :p) DOWNLOAD THE 32Bit version!

Vista isn't any better than xp. It's just... annoying as hell. They added a whole lot of features, but they are all awful copies of features that are on mac os x. If you want those features, get a mac, if you want a good PC which is good for what you want, use xp.

hehe if u want to play them at max u should consider a new PC. 8500 is a bit old now... i have the 8600... and im gonna upgrade now. 2.3 is a bit weak... i run a dual 2.6... ugrading to 2.6 quad.

u should get urself a AMD AM2 2.4 or beather... 9500\9600 2-4g ram and. a new disk :p
... but if u got some money i would recomend u a Dual Quad core on 2.6 and a Nvidia Gtx250 or somthing like that or a Radeon HDsomthing:p... and some ram.

Windows 7 have some great features and have almost the same speed as XP... :p
Never used it. I only read your post after I had finished posting myself. The only problem I see with Windows 7 is that it's still in beta. They're has to be a lot of annoying bugs right?

If it's like what fanzy said, then I would get windows 7 then :).

everyone i know says vista is shit lol.
Everyone you know is right! ; )

Im totally not even gonna post, as I dont like Windows, I only use Windows XP for games.

Dont upgrade if your main focus is for gaming. XP have more than efficient capabilities for your current hardware. XP limits at 4 gig for ram, you wont be able to add more ram than that, so I dont think you would need to worry about that. Im un aware about Vista's limits.

Vista requires 1 gig, but its not necessarily that your PC constantly requires 1 gig. Your games settings should also not be affected by the amount of Ram that you have, Those settings are rendered on your graphics card and your ram is not to much the culprit there, When you pc takes to long and you get parts where your game freezes or slows down and then suddenly starts to play better again then its your ram. If you have a constant lag your computers Graphics card is the problem. SO to get back tp your Question you wont necessarily need take your settings down from high to medium just because your OS requires 512 more meg in order to function.

BTW get a better PC. :D
