As many are aware, advances in technology are opening new doors (Wow, I already sound like a broken record :p)

Augmented Reality
Many people may already know, but one of the next target goals is bringing Augmented Reality to allow for more in depth interaction in a variety of fields, namely entertainment and business. The principal runs on the bringing virtual information, whether it be by means of hologram or information on a computer screen, to the physical plane and actually interact with it hands on.

Virtual Reality
Aside from that is Virtual Reality, which works in a completely opposite direction by having our own conscious dive into the virtual world, allowing us to interact with a computer from the inside of the computer. This has been seen a lot more in Sci-Fi stories, such as Transcendence or Sword Art Online.

Obviously one of these is further than the other in advancement, but I was curious to ask something. Which type of reality would you prefer and find (generally speaking) better for life? Please consider as many fields for this: Gaming, Health, Business, Education, Fitness, Ethics, Politics, etc

personally id enjoy digital reality for gaming. although i don't think either would be better for life as it would lead to people who abandon their real lives to live a fake existence but whatever.

idk how the augmented reality would do in the real world.

I think you can do more with virtual reality so if I had to choose I would pick that.

Yugioh would be cool with Augmented reality though.

I think augmented reality is better for life because it's closer to reality. I can imagine a lot of people getting obsessed with virtual reality (including myself).

Rather keep it safe lmao
Interesting you'd say that. How would you consider this in regards to having your physical body in a state of suspended animation. You're body would basically be frozen in place. And what boundaries does this lead to? Do we allow our minds to enter the digital world, which could theoretically grant us immortality? Or do we set limits? How are those limits decided? After seeing a lot of Sci-Fi, you start to worry a little

Consider this video in regards to how Augmented Reality could work

I would want Virtual reality for gaming #RoyalRoad #Zhan Long, and to some extent medicine- particularly in the field of psychology...

This is an interesting thread. I'm sure people will come here to discuss this interesting matter. As for me, I do not have an answer. I think both have their up's and down's, but I would still want them to be in our lives. Augmented and Virtual reality sound like unique advancements we, the people would have made, through technology, giving us another fact, that the world is expanding with unique, bright ideas which are made possible as the years come past us.

I know this isn't the question, but let me speak my thoughts. I'm not saying the option for us to be transferred in the reality world is for the better, in-fact, I think it's for the worse, but I feel as it would be such an unique rush of thrill and an discovery for us. Just imagine the endless politesses of the awe-inspiring ideas people probably already have. Just imagine communicating with people, that are miles away from you, but you get to speak to them face-to-face through virtual reality. Just imagine being in a game like 'Sword Art Online', or perhaps, you could even make games out of the biggest franchises as of yet in the world. Call of Duty, Assassins Creed, Need for Speed, FIFA, NBA 2K, or you could even go a step further and create games that are branched off of ideas from manga's or comics, just imagine playing the story mode of 'Bleach', and then when you have finished the singe player career, you can be the Arrancar or Soul Reaper. The virtual reality can even be used for different aspects than entertainment, it's just the most exciting aspect of virtual reality.

I'm not sure about everyone else here, but I really do look forward to the future.

I would prefer letting virtual things stay virtual.
I can't even play with that big as gaming glass without feeling sick
Considering the advances, we could proabably make Augmented Reality require smaller devices like regular glasses or even contacts. Hell, we can implant a chip in the brain that connects to the optical nerves which creates the same function, and no tedious equipment.
