The smirk on Law's face was especially wide as he approached his opponent. A soft wind blew across the bridge, tussling the hat on his head slightly and blowing the rope tied to the sword strapped to his back in a swaying pattern. This particular enemy was more of a stranger to him than the others were, but Law was never one to drop his guard, especially among unknown enemies. The smile still on his face, Law strings together the needed seals, invoking several jutsu at once. Immediately forming the seals, a kunai drops from his sleeve with an explosive tag attached to it. "Ninja Art: Elemental Colossal Tag," Law cries out as he chucks the tag towards his opponent's throat. As the weapon falls to his hand and he throws it, a barrier would be forming around his body, invisible and lingering off of his body by a few inches. As the barrier forms, it is imbued with Water Chakra, enhancing its protective strengths while remaining invisible to the man's naked eye.

Description: The user will perform the Dragon handseal during the creation of a barrier technique, allowing them to induce a layer of Elemental Chakra to the barrier that amplifies it's effects, giving the barrier it's used on one additional rank. The user can choose one of the five Nature Elements at a time, with each Nature Element granting an additional property, either offensive or defensive, to the barrier depending on the Nature Element. Fire Releases increases the barrier's offensive capabilities through increasing its heat and allowing it to burn those who make contact with it. Earth Release increases the barrier's defensive capabilities through reinforcing it, due to the Earth's sturdy nature. Water Release increases the barrier's defensive capabilities by inducing malleability to it due to water's freeflowing nature; as an attack or object of inferior rank strikes the barrier, its shape and form distorts as though made of rubber, before snapping back into place and reversing the trajectory of the attack. Lightning Release grants the barrier electrical properties, allowing it to shock and paralyze those that come in contact with the barrier. Wind Release grants the only supplementary usage of the technique, allowing the user to move the barrier across the terrain after its initial creation due to Wind's nature to easily transverse. Though with this, the barrier takes on the elemental strengths and weaknesses of the chosen element. So if infused with wind, it will now be weak to fire and strong to lightning attacks.

When enemy's attack draws near, the barrier becomes active, appearing as a translucent red color, and deflects the attack in respects to strengths and weaknesses. The technique was created as a means of allowing the user to engage in Taijutsu maneuvers without having to worry about techniques like Chidori Stream, allowing them to execute their maneuvers. The barrier does not cause any additional damage or enhancements to the user's body, even though it is tangible, and comes into effect when struck by a person or technique.

Other than being moved below ground relative to the surrounding surface the terrain is not altered, plant life and people retaining their same positions.

Description: This is the brother technique to Earth Release: Rubble Creation. Unlike its counterpart, this technique is more passive in nature. This user activates an ability which allows them to infuse additional Earth chakra into their own Earth-based techniques(includes Earth-based KG/CEs). As a result, any subsequent Earth technique performed by the user would emerge with an additional layer of rubble around it. The earthen particles coating the technique would be jagged and abrasive in nature. Hence, this grants the original Earth technique an extra dimension, in terms of its offensive potential, as it allows the original Earth technique to deal additional damage. In other words, all Earth techniques used while this is active grant a sort of ‘shredding’ property, which in turn, allows it to deal more damage than it originally would. For example, for techniques such as Destructive Rock Rising Pillars, the pillars that rise would be coated with the aforementioned particles, thus becoming somewhat abrasive(coupled along with its original blunt destructive power). The added mass also aids in its destructive potential. For techniques such as the Hardening technique, the rocks would be coated with more rubble, which would make it more ‘abrasive’ to the touch, and allow it to deal more damage(when used offensively). It would also serve as an additional defensive mechanism, and would grant the technique the ability to defend against techniques with 20 more damage points than usual. The rubble used for this technique must either originate from the terrain itself, or extruded from the user’s body itself. This means that for the most part, this technique only works on projectile-type techniques, and terrain manipulation techniques. This technique may not be used to enhance mud techniques. With great magnitude, the large spikes would aim to crush Law inside their frenzy attack. Even if he were to slip around them, the rock pillars eventually collide in the center and break each other apart. Releasing large chucks of rock and rubble all over the area inside the lowered Core. Crushing and burying Law.

As the man threw his own kunai, Law's smile grew slightly wider. He had seen through his ruse after all, but it mattered not, Law's armor had successfully formed. Shortly after throwing his kunai the man stooped towards the ground, indicating the use of a jutsu that would be Earth-based, if not at least originating from the ground. As the ground shook, confirming Law's suspicion, and forcefully lowered, he would release from his body two chains, one from his chest and one from his back. The chain from his back moves backwards and lodges itself into the ground 7 meters away, with Law manipulating its positioning to raise him upwards and away from the lowering earth. He would be raised up before his knees could reach the top of the hole(picture Dr. Octopus using his tentacles to stand, but just one coming from his back and curved slightly). The second chain from his chest moves forward at high speed, aiming to slams into Sora's chest and pierce through it before curving backwards to slice through his neck, decapitating him. The chains would of course be formed before the pillars, and should Sora continue to perform them he'd be leaving himself open to impalement.

The user is able to focus and materialize chains from their body that can be used for various purposes. However, what makes it a technique that goes beyond the normal Ninjutsu category is that the user can manifest these chains in reality, using them to attack, defend or restrict a given target but can also manifest these chains in his mind, in a purely spiritual field. This enables the technique to act as defense against mental attacks (Genjutsu, Yamanaka Clan techniques, etc) by using the spiritual manifestation of the chains to "attack" the mental intrusion and dispel it. It was this ability that allowed Uzumaki Kushina and Uzumaki Mito to serve as perfect vessels for the Bijuu Kurama, as they could use it to restrict the 9 Tails Demon Fox inside their bodies. When manifested as a Ninjutsu attack, it has both great range and strength. The chains can be used to attack (each chain ends in a kunai-like spear which can be used to pierce a target as a spear or the chains can be used to slam into the target or surround it and "crush" it) or defend (using the same methods) against enemies and techniques but its main purpose is to restrict and contain targets. Law's smile turned to a slightly puzzled look as he saw the man unlatch his weights and drop them to the ground. Almost immediately after, he vanished from Law's view. Had he run away? No, rather, Law heard the unmistakable sound of a Chidori forming, giving away the man's position. With a simple smirk, Law allows the chain aimed at Sora's initial position to pierce the ground, while also controlling the chain from his back to extend downwards through the bridge. Both chains pierce through and double around, aiming to emerge beneath Sora's new spot on the bridge to pierce him from below as the lightning moves forward. The lightning would strike Law's enhanced Body Armor, with the barrier absorbing the damage and nullifying it as the chains slice through Sora from below.

Law's smile turned to a slightly puzzled look as he saw the man unlatch his weights and drop them to the ground. Almost immediately after, he vanished from Law's view. Had he run away? No, rather, Law heard the unmistakable sound of a Chidori forming, giving away the man's position. With a simple smirk, Law allows the chain aimed at Sora's initial position to pierce the ground, while also controlling the chain from his back to extend downwards through the bridge. Both chains pierce through and double around, aiming to emerge beneath Sora's new spot on the bridge to pierce him from below as the lightning moves forward. The lightning would strike Law's enhanced Body Armor, with the barrier absorbing the damage and nullifying it as the chains slice through Sora from below.

When enemy's attack draws near, the barrier becomes active, appearing as a translucent red color, and deflects the attack in respects to strengths and weaknesses. The technique was created as a means of allowing the user to engage in Taijutsu maneuvers without having to worry about techniques like Chidori Stream, allowing them to execute their maneuvers. The barrier does not cause any additional damage or enhancements to the user's body, even though it is tangible, and comes into effect when struck by a person or technique.

Nah, Weights are used like that 90% of the time. They count as a jutsu when dropped, so they can be used to escape attacks. I can link you numerous fights as proof (not my fights even).

Sora snarled, while sensing both chakra chains making way from below coming at him, a useless tactic he thought. If it did not work once, why should the second be any better. "Why does he bother with these....Seimon!" Sora, angered by the not so grand battle thus far, decided to show the Uzumaki what real power was all about. Almost like a ticking time-bomb, an aura exploded up around Sora's body, as he ripped open the Seimon, also known as the Wound Gate. His skin, bloody red it had become. As red as the devil himself, the now Red Monarch kneeled slightly and jumped off the bridge, shattering it short around around on his way off. This would be done fast enough before the chains would reach him.
The plan had been a sucess, the strong S rank barrier that protected Law was a big problem for Sora's approach, but his opponent did as expected and allowed himself to get hit by the Raiton, thus, being released from the protection of the body barrier. Revealing his flesh once more. "Cat's out of the box.." He thought, as he rushed up at such speed that he would probably be faster than sound itself.
(Hachimon) The Eight Inner Gates

The Eight Gates are eight specific points on a person's Chakra Pathway System. They limit the overall flow of chakra within a person's body. The basis for the idea of the chakra gates comes from the body's limits on the functions within it. This makes the body much weaker, but it keeps the body from expiring too soon. By undergoing intense training, one can learn how to open these gates allowing the user to surpass their own physical limits at the cost of extreme damage to their own body. The user opens the gates in sequence, up to the desired gate to achieve its effects. Opening the gates is a fast process and can be done in mere moments up to the desired gate. EIG Masters can do so easily and in a passive way (not spending a move). When one opens up to a given EIG, that opening lasts 4 turns. Opening additional gates upon the last turn of the active opening adds 2 turns. However, there is an exception. Opening the last and 8th gate can only be done for 2 turns, even if the user opens it immediately.
(Kaimon) - The Gate of Opening: The user activates The Gate of Opening or First Gate, which is located in the brain. This gate removes the restraints of the brain on the muscles so 100% of their strength can be used whereas normally, a person can only use 20% of their muscles' strength to keep them from disintegrating. Unlocking this gate allows the user to use the Front Lotus. This gate adds +5 damage to Taijutsu and the user becomes 1.5x faster. User suffers -5 damage.
(Kyūmon) - The Gate of Healing: The user activates the Gate of Healing or 2nd Gate (also named Rest Gate) which is located in the brain. Forcibly increases one's physical strength and temporarily re-energizes the body. This gate adds +10 damage to Taijutsu and the user becomes 2x faster. User suffers -10 damage. (Seimon) - The Gate of Life: The user activates the Gate of Life or 3rd Gate which is located in the Spinal cord. The increased blood flow turns the skin red. Allows the user to use Hidden Lotus. This gate adds +15 damage to Taijutsu and the user becomes 2.5x faster. User suffers -15 damage.
(Shōmon) - The Gate of Pain: The user activates the Gate of Pain or 4th Gate (also named Wound Gate) which is located in the Spinal cord, lower than the Seimon. Increases the user's strength and speed. May cause muscle tissue to begin to tear on use. This gate adds +20 damage to Taijutsu and the user becomes 3x faster. User suffers -15 damage.
(Tomon) - The Gate of Limit: The user activates the Gate of Limit or 5th gate, which is located in the abdomen. Increases the user's speed and power. This gate adds +30 damage to Taijutsu and the user becomes 3.5x faster. User suffers -15 damage.
(Keimon) - Gate of View: The user activates the Gate of View or 6th Gate, located in the stomach. Increases the user's speed and power. Opening of this gate releases such enormous amounts of chakra that it can cause nearby water bodies to form a vortex around the user. Allows the user to perform the Morning Peacock. This gate adds +40 damage to Taijutsu and the user becomes 4x faster. User suffers -25 damage.
(Kyōmon) - The Gate of Wonder: The user activates the Gate of Wonder or 7th Gate which is located below the stomach. Those who open this gate will pour glowing green sweat from every inch of their body, which immediately evaporates from their own heat energy, creating an aura which people would mistake as a green chakra coating. However, the side effects of opening the gate are that the user's muscle fibers are ripped to shreds after exiting this gate, causing intense pain if anything or anyone touches him. Allows the user to perform the Daytime Tiger without great strain on the user's chakra. This gate adds +60 damage to Taijutsu and the user becomes 7x faster. User suffers -40 damage.
(Shimon) - The Gate of Death: The user activates the Gate of Death or 8th Gate, located at the heart, requiring the user to puncture their chest just above the heart in order to open it, enabling the user to achieve what is described as The Eight Gates Released Formation" (Hachimon Tonkō no Jin). Opening this gate will cause the user's blood to emanate a flaming aura of red steam from all pores of their body, hair, and eyebrows. Releasing this gate uses up all of the body's energy while making the heart pump at maximum power. Releasing this gate uses up all of the body's energy. It makes the heart pump at maximum power and exceeds the power of every other gate. Unfortunately, the side effect of opening this gate is that it comes at the expense of the user's life, causing the user to crumble to ash, having virtually cooked themselves from the inside-out. This is unlike opening the other gates, which simply injure or damage the body. This gate adds +120 damage to Taijutsu and the user becomes 8x faster.
Note: The EIG users can only open the gates once per fight, meaning that if he allows the EIG opening to time out, he cannot open the EIGs again during the match. EIG Masters can open EIGs twice per battle if the first use is only up to 6th gate.
Note: Up to 3rd Gate, the damage is neglitable for both EIG Users and EIG Masters, feeling only pain and lack of stamina. However, for openings above that, EIG Masters don't suffer damage from opening up to 6th Gate but EIG users will feel severe pain and damage after the EIG opening times out, being left unable to move correctly for 2 turns and unable to mold chakra above B-rank in the next turn. EIG Masters will feel the same effects for opening 7th Gate.
Note: Opening the 8th Gate kills the user at the end of the 2 turns it reamins opened.

The force is such that Law is sent crashing down against the mountain side near the bridge.
Sora's orbs would be around him at all times, dragged around with his body like a magnet.

By itself it can cause shortness of breath or muscle numbness/crambs depending on the inflicted area; however when focused with doton chakra it will give the user a great increase in crushing power, capabable of hardening the three-fingered claw to the point it allows the user to shatter regular swords/weapons and pierce through armors/shields (rankless ones) given the claw is hardened to high levels. It's hardness is such, that it can be used to counter up to B ranked earth techniques. The Doton's Dragon Claw allows the user to land a heavy bone breaking strike, while doing minimal damage to the internal organs it is capable of fracturing bones with relative ease. Taijutsu masters can use a double handed Dragon's Claw, in which case the Doton chakra would be split into A rank strength per hand.

The sharks burst up and intercepts him before he could reach Law, bombarding Sora as he begins to move through the air. Due to his airborne-positioning, dodging or changing direction would be practically impossible for the shinobi, leaving him extremely vulnerable as the barrage slams into his body and drags him back into the water, shredding his body apart. The performance of jutsu would of course cause Law's chains to dissipate, causing him to drop. He would control one of the thousand sharks to separate from the group and move towards him, with Law grabbing its fin so it could lower him safely to the water below a the others ravage Sora's body.

I think, the appropriate counter would've been a body technique, given a ranged technique of that scale would take too long (if you've seen the usage in the series) i'd already hit you.
I mean, the opening of the EIG is instant, from there, jumping off is faster than a wall of sharks rising up. Not even taking into consideration the speed of my footwork, id be close with you before even a few sharks formed.

Okay so this match was alright.
The match was relatively even most of the way, which means sadly you must start splitting hairs when you can't simply give a draw. Riker, you mostly stood there and relied on 1-2 techniques for most of what I saw. I wouldn't quite say that the battle was completely in Loki's hands as terms of controlling the flow of battle, but I will say that Loki seemed to be using a more overwhelming force that had you more on the reaction side of things, rather than acting. You mainly used your chains to dodge and send an attack at Loki, which I'm not blaming you for, because he had an advantage in the speed department. However, as I read further, I saw an issue.
Loki attacked you while in the 3rd gate and atleast within short range of you, while at the same time you used the shark jutsu. I can't, in good conscious, say that the sharks from several meters below the surface of the bridge which you were fighting on, reaches Loki before he is able to reach you with his attack with his enhanced speed and strength. The time it would take to travel to loki (slower than the 3rd gate I may add) would be enough to cause it to miss the mark, let alone gathering the water chakra and forming the sharks. Not only that, but it has been ruled before that Taijutsu is faster than Ninjutsu, which is common sense I would think. That being said, you would be hit by Loki's attack, before the sharks got to him, ending the match. Loki advances.
