Veskal’s Exchange

Veskal’s Exchange is similar to a Marketplace; it is a place of trade and commerce, except on a lawless level. It is akin to a black market of sorts, a place where less than reputable traders, merchants, cultists, and others come to do business and mingle. Like the vast majority of Tobusekai, Veskal’s Exchange is not protected by the laws that a normal marketplace enjoys. It is a cutthroat market, where people frequently come and die with their wares and goods.

Veskal’s Exchange is a sacred landmark in Tobusekai and as such it cannot be claimed, conquered, or colonized by foreign powers.

( Hebi Kuchiyose - Boitatá ) Snake Summoning - Boitatá
Type: Attack/Defense/Supplemental
Rank: S
Range: Short-Long
Chakra Cost: 40
Damage Points: 80
Description: Boitatá, the most proficient of all Snakes in usage of Katon, is a personal summons of Vegeta Valentine. He is comparable in size to Aoda with bull-like horns on his head. From just behind the top of his skull is what looks like quills coming off him in a staggered pattern down his body. His tail is pointed having an ax shape to it with a spear tip in the center. The razor sharp horns as well as heavy blunt/sharp tail can be used for striking and would also carry burning damage from him always molding his Katon. Its eyes are stunning and bright, and he is very strong even by large Snake summons standards. A fierce, powerful, menacing Minister of Death whom thanks to his natural affinity to Katon and burning things, hates nature, especially the forest. He is an avid swimmer moving as fast as he can on land (Kage rank Taijutsu Master). His fangs contain a powerful snake venom, and one bite from him would not only burn someone severely but would also paralyze them as the venom quickly makes it way thru their system, taking 2 turns for total paralysis to set in, lasting for one turn.

- Can communicate with humans and snakes alike
- Uses Katon with no seals, and basic Ninjutsu (only Hiding with Camoflage and Chakra transfer technique)
- Cannot be harmed by B ranks and below

- Can access Natural Energy only to use Sage Art: Inorganic Reincarnation, and can use the Chakra Transfer technique to dispel the user from Genjutsu up to A rank

~Notes~

Desmond and co enter the land but instead of continuing onward decide to stop and get some food. The group would disperse into the crowd as to keep themselves somewhat hidden.

Coming from The Shadow Tower

Rebekah was exhausted to say the least. As she entered upon civilization, she was relieved to hear chattering and the mundane clinking of things being forged and traded. She stopped at an Inn, washed up and gave her and her summons a well needed rest. She stretched her limbs and ate the warmest soup she's ever had. While sipping the soup, she began to layout her plan.

How could she bring chaos to a town without actually bringing harm to anyone? If it came down to it, would she actually hurt people to capture Grenth's attention? The people here didn't look innocent, in fact, they wreaked of scams and illegitimacy. Would Grenth be here? She didn't know. All she knew was that she needed to create a big enough disturbance that Grenth would come from whereever he was to check it out.

As Rebekah thought this over, a man seated across the room from her at the Inn gave her a glance. She decided to ask him about Grenth and showed him the sketch and to her surprise, he said, "yeah I saw that fellow a couple hours ago walking through the markets with a few companions... it was a hard scene not to notice. What business do you have with a guy like that?"

Rebekah's eyes lit up like a fire. He was here! Finally... this changed everything.

She didn't need for the chaos to be huge and mighty, just local. It didn't even need to be directed towards innocent people. All it needed to be was big enough to attract him, bring him to her, then she could spy on him from there. In fact... it could start right here, right now.

Standing from her seat, her leg bumps against the small circle table where her half eaten soup lay. It tipped over quickly, the bowl falling to the ground and shattering. Carla nonchalantly licked up the soup as Rebekah jolted over to the man.

She hovers in front of him, her hand seal in front of her mouth,
"run."

( Kokuangyo no Jutsu ) - Bringer-of-Darkness Technique
Rank: A
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra Cost: 30
Damage Points: N/A
Description: The user makes one handseal, causing the opponent to believe they have been trapped in a world of infinite darkness, where their sense of sight is useless. It is capable of affecting multiple targets within range. However, it does not negate their other senses.

Within seconds, the man believes he is engulfed in darkness, which causes him to fall out of his chair screaming. A few other people within the Inn catch the latter of the results, also unable to see anything. A panic starts up and Rebekah grabs her small bag and breaches from the Inn, her summons going where ever she goes. The victims of her technique pushes past her, running into the streets of people.

As she walks through the crowds, she whispers into peoples ears, a Genjutsu casting upon them. Immediately, all that are affected scream and flee, smashing into others and tripping over their own feet. They see and hear explosions and loose their footing. The people around them who aren't affected by the Gen also begin to freak out, unsure of what is happening.

( Genjutsu: Iwa Kōka Genjutsu ) - Illusionary Arts: Rockslide Genjutsu
Type: Offensive
Rank: B
Range: Short - Mid
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage: N/A
Description: This is a technique that can be cast on multiple targets. The user creates an illusion where their target(s) experience several explosions going off near and around them. The ground around and beneath the target(s) will begin to collapse and cause panic and mental damage from the perceived reality of the explosions. The technique, however, is weak when cast upon multiple targets as it only takes one individual to release the technique for large groups of people.
Note: This technique can be cast on multiple targets but when done it only takes one person to release the technique for all parties involved with genjutsu kai. However all members need to be within short range distance.

Rebekah stays low, weaving in and out of alleys and watching the chaos from afar. Where was Grenth? He would surely be the one calm person throughout all the electricity. But he wasn't there, his calm demeanor couldn't be found strolling through the crowds of chaos.

She had to do it, she had to elevate the severity. He wouldn't turn a blind eye to innocents being at risk.

"Carla," Rebekah purses her lips. "I need you."

"Yeah?" Calra yawns, awaking from the nap on her shoulder.

"I need you to go wandering by the shops-" Rebekah pauses and then removes a necklace from her neck. "- with this on. That way the greedy people will chase you and group up."

"What? No! They might grab me!" Carla hisses.

"Well, it's a good thing you have nine lives then! Come on, I have a plan, you'll be fine."

And with that, Rebekah shakes Carla off her shoulder. She watches as Clara prances away, throwing back a glare. She sprints into the crowds of people, the gold shiny necklace strapped onto her already catching the eyes of many greedy thieves and traders.

It only takes a solid couple of minutes for a small brawl to begin. They wanted the shiny piece of jewelry but Carla was too quick. A good sized mob of about 20 people chase and watch her, waiting for the right moment to strike.

Just as a brawny man is about to capture Carla, Rebekah intervenes from hiding. Carla leaps up onto her shoulder and irritation sets on the faces of the nasty men and women.

"That cat there has something of mine!" One of the women tries to lie. Anything for money, right?

"I have something better." Rebekah says. "Something you'll like."

"Is this a set up? Are you a nark?" One of the men spits, the hood he's wearing makes Rebekah believe him to be a cultist.

( Nehan Shōja no Jutsu ) - Temple of Nirvana Technique
Rank: A
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra Cost: 30
Damage Points: N/A
Description: The user makes one handseal, placing all the targets in the area under an illusion where feathers appear to fall from the sky. This slowly puts the opponents to sleep after one turn.

Rebekah grabs hold of a passerby's arm, a small woman, and makes a handseal. Slowly, the lady looks to be in a trance, looking up towards the sky. She sees feathers, many feathers.

Soon after, all the other targeets that Rebekah picked out from the crowd began to do the same. Young women, old women, small kids and elderly rich owners all looked up the sky in a daze. To Rebekah's surprise, such basic and nice looking people sauntered around these lands... well, it was their own fault.

Soon, the people would collapse into a deep sleep, the greedy crows-of-humans ready to peck at their bodies full of gold, valuables and pleasure.

Desmond sipping his tea from a straw took notice of a familiar chakra entering the land with his byakugan; he'd pass this information to Cynn and Jecht. Cynn would begin to make her way closer to Rebekah's group keeping to the shadows and staying in her and her summon's blind spots, whilst Jecht kept an eye on her from above circling the market, but as he did so his chakra flooded the sky creating lightning clouds above. Soon after this, however, a man ran out from the inn Rebekah was at his chakra obviously disturbed it seemed she was having a bit of fun.

Soon after people started screaming and falling to the ground and flailing about as if falling down a pit other simply passed out from shock but nothing too serious in Desmond's mind as he continued to sip his tea. Pretty soon a massive crowd started forming around those affected by Rebekah's games and they too had their chakra tampered with and began to look toward's the sky. After a while, his tea was gone and the waitress attending him was so much in a daze she couldn't refill his cup. Desmond knew she was aware that he was here and began to stand up and leave making sure to pay for his drink.

As the few selected men and women we're caught in their trance like state, Rebekah watched as the second phase of the jutsu happened all at once. After slowly growing sleepy, the people fell to their knees and soon after into a deep sleep.

The people lucky enough to not be targeted by Rebekah quickly stepped over the sleeping individuals, their eyes wide with confusion. Gossip immediately roared through the crowds.

"I'm sure these people have money and valuables on them. And even more so, their bodies." Rebekah turns and starts to walk away. "Do with them what you like. Try not to cause a scene."

Rebekah says the last part sarcastically. The group of scavengers appear shocked at first but soon fall accustomed to their daily rituals of thievery and vulgarness. It only takes a few moments, and then they're hovering over the women and men, grabbing at them. Rebekah took notice in a few men fighting over a young woman. The victorious man slung her body over his shoulder and began to stalk off into the shadows.

Rebekah's gut flopped as she watched, now atop a roof. She didn't feel bad necessarily, the naive people should've never brought themselves to such a ill-mannered location in the first place. If Grenth didn't appear to give retribution, then all of this would have been for nothing. And the thought of it honestly began to enrage her.

... If Grenth didn't show, Rebekah decided that she might try and correct what she caused. She had her three little birds flying low in the town, following the gross man who was carrying the woman. If Grenth didn't appear to stop it, Rebekah thought that she might. Maybe...

After all, him not showing was starting to bring her annoyance.

She kicked her feet as she sat on the roof of the tallest building in the area. She noticed a storm beginning to appear. Though, she had front row seats. Would he show?

As he opened the gate to the tea shop and exit to the street the individuals around him would fall to the ground in a deep slumber. As he began to walk Desmond saw several unaffected people begin to move towards the now helpless bodies "Unfortunate souls to get caught in her games..." he thought to himself until something caught his attention. A group of men fought over a woman and then the winner began to carry her body off. This triggered flashbacks from his childhood images of how his mother was treated but at the same time, his goals were urging him to press forward. A few seconds pass and just as the man enters a dark ally Ilya yells out GRENTH!

Snapping back to reality Desmond asserts his aura and intent onto the crowd causing them to cower in fear, some fainted, and others pissed themselves and seconds later he muttered one phrase... Kill them... Jecht began dive bombing the crowd grabbing people in his talons; some were simply ripped in half, others crushed, few had their eyes plucked out, limbs removed or eaten, and the unlucky few were carried into the clouds and stuck by lightning before being dropped.

Lyss ran through the crowd fighting of any that approached the sleeping beauties which could best be described through ones hear as all you'd hear are the cracking of bones, screams of the injured, squishing and popping noises of organs being ripped out or completely destroyed, and finally, the laments of those slowly dying from being poisoned.

Ilya walked into the dark ally that the man went into with the woman and a few moments later she walked out with her body and possessions followed by a pool of blood.

Cynn kept quite and continued to follow Rebekah hidden away in blind spots.

Desmond would take a single kunai one much larger than average and would throw it towards Rebekah's location; the kunai wouldn't be laced in poison but instead would fly past her cheek and cut some strands of her hair.

Jutsu:

(Sakki) - Killing Intent
Rank: D-S
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short-Long
Chakra cost: N/A
Damage points: N/A
Description: Killing Intent pertains to the ability of the user giving off their pure killing intention and having it affect their opponent and others around them up to the point of paralyzing them. When the Killing Intent is particularly strong, it can even give the victim visions of their own gruesome death, nausea, pain, etc. This can cause the Killing Intent to be confused with a genjutsu, despite not being a genjutsu at all; simply a showcase of intention and power. The target will feel as if facing an overwhelming enemy and, even if not a sensor, will suddenly feel the pressure of the user's chakra and its magnitude, making the effect that much more dramatic. To effectively be used, the user needs to focus on his target and concentrate on the killing intent towards it, meaning that one must see the target and be focused on it. The strength of the Killing Intent is dependent on many factors and go through several levels. If a difference in rank smaller than 2 ranks exist, the enemy will feel only the pressure and the ominous presence of their dark intentions. It's enough to lose your grasp on a weapon or stay clinched to it (depending on the situation) or even to hesitate in an attack, stumble or mess up a hand seal, all depending on the situation and proximity. The effect is small and normally not that significant but can be effectively used to pressure enemies into making a mistake. If a difference of 2 ranks or more exist, the enemy will be frozen, almost unable to move as the overwhelming killing intent dominates their own conscious and riddles them with nightmarish versions of death. The paralyzation gradually weakens as time passes and can only be maintained while the user is focused on the target. The further away from the target, the weaker it is and it can only fully paralyze a target within short range. Similarly, the more targets one focuses on, the weaker the effect is in each one (dividing the effects equally between the number of targets). Lastly, the stronger the user is in relation to the target, the stronger the effect will be. The target can counter Killing Intent directed at it through pain, "mind cleansing" techniques or their own Killing Intent.
Note: Intensity of technique depends on the rank of the user, distance to target and number of targets one is focusing on
Note: Can only be used once
Note: Lasts only while the user is focusing on it and while focusing on it the user can't mold chakra

In the corner of Rebekah's eye, she watches as Grenth breaches from a shop. A blood bath occurs below. Each of Grenth's companions shuffled toward different tasks, and in that moment of watching them, Rebekah wondered where Cynn was. She assumed probably hiding in the shadows, maybe even watching her from afar. Surely Grenth's byakugan had picked her up by now. So he knew she was here all this time.

A weight is lifted from her shoulders as she watches him. All the traveling wasn't for nothing.

The scene below was entertaining. Grenth's aura caused not only some of the bad guys to faint, but also the civilians trying to run toward safety. People were throwing up, falling over, shivering, crying.... dying. All the bad guy's were dying.

"There's the destruction and chaos that follows him around,"
Rebekah mutters to Carla quietly, almost as if they were watching a movie. Her summon watches the disruption, the white hairs on her spine sticking straight up.

"This guy doesn't look easy to talk to..." Carla backs away from the edge of the roof.

As a one quick, fluid motion, Grenth peels a kunai from his clothes and sends it flying towards Rebekah. Rebekah never stopped swinging her legs in a playful way, even as it sliced pieces of her blond strands. She could have reacted to it, but if Grenth wanted her dead, he could have had his way with it the second she entered the landmark.

"Definitely not easy to talk to!" Carla squeals.

"It's nice to see you again, too." Rebekah calls down to him. Despite not remaining in hiding during her mission, Rebekah was still going to find out the reason why he left, and if she could, fix things.

Just now realizing, Rebekah looked around. Everyone had vanished, despite the dead bodies that littered the ground. It was just her and Grenth, surrounded by corpses.

To clara's surprise, Rebekah leaped down from the roofftop and began towards Grenth.

"It's nice to see you again, too." she said just before dropping to the ground. Ilya, Lyss strat getting rid of the corpses. Let us try to leave this village somewhat normal. Nodding to his request the twins began to dispose of the bodies Desmond, however, wove some seals and caused rain to fall from the clouds above washing the blood down drains as it fell onto the streets.

It's been a while Bekah... you shouldn't be here said Desmond with a slightly agitated tone and arms crossed. Cynn utilizing the falling rain to mask her movements began to dig into the ground and follow Rebekah from below.

(Doton: Moguragakure no Jutsu) – Earth Release: Hiding Like A Mole Technique
Type: Supplementary
Rank: C
Range: Long
Chakra: 15
Damage: N/A
Description: The user changes earth into fine sand by channeling chakra into it, allowing the user to dig through it like a mole. While underground one can sense what is happening on the surface and use the information to launch a surprise attack on the enemy. Once can also hide deep in the ground, escaping to a depth where the enemy can't reach. It also appears that after digging, the ground can be returned to its original state, leaving no trace of where the user entered the earth. While inside the earth, the user cannot make hand seals and can only use Earth techniques below C-Rank. If he tries to do a higher ranked technique, he'll disrupt the Hiding like a mole technique and be left crushed.

(Suiton: Ukojizai no Jutsu) - Water Style: Rain Tiger at Will Technique
Type: Supplementary
Rank: C
Range: Short-Long
Chakra: 15
Damage: N/A

The rain falls from rain clouds, formed with the users own chakra. During this technique, the falling raindrops are closely linked to the user's senses. When the rain is obstructed by a chakra belonging to someone the existence of the target can be detected. The rain will keep on falling until the user uses the seal to cancel it.

Rebekah continues towards Grenth, but stops a good distance away to give him space. She wasn't trying to intrude upon him nor create more problems, in fact, she just wanted to know why he left and if there was a way to make things right again. Although, with the huge scene she caused, she knew he had become agitated, his body language saying it all.

She honestly wasn't sure how to go about this mission. Spying on him wasn't an option anymore, but just flat out asking the question wouldn't be right either. He needed to feel like she truly cared. But everyone else cared and he still left them with a quake of destruction. So did it even matter if she did?

"Oh, come on, you know you're excited to see me!"
Rebekah laughed, but soon after the laughter went dry and a tense kind of silence hung in the air. "Or maybe not... after all you didn't even care to say goodbye."

She looked away from Grenth and watched the clean up process. It was hard for her to look at a person who she thought she knew and could trust. Maybe she shouldn't have come...

Carla hid behind Rebekah's leg and her birds circled above, their feathers dripping with rain. The eerie winds blew the rain and clouds around, soon causing Rebekah to grow wet as well. It was a depressive kind of scene.

"There's so much I don't know, starting from who you really are and what hides under your armor. Yet I had still chose to put my trust in you because trust doesn't stem from what someones appearance is, but from their choices and actions. Because we aren't defined by our past, but by our present. And in that present, you were someone worthy of care, friendship and trust. But this present is a different you. Or maybe it's the true you... I don't know anymore."
The words fell from Rebekah's wet lips. "I just came to figure out the truth... to give my mind some peace."

With that, Rebekah would plop down into a sitting position while the rain pelted her lowered head. She watched the ground, the beads of water creating puddles.

Desmond let out a sigh his tone softened but his body remained rigged, Under this armor is a fragile boy drowning in a world of darkness fighting every day to find some sort of light. Our past, however, does define us we are who we are because of it and the future is shaped by it as I am shaped by mine. My actions hold consequences and those shape how you and the other view me now; friend, foe, ally, enemy, trusted or not.

Jecht circling above started to take notice for the three other birds flying around in what he now considered his domain and through his mental connection with Desmond would speak through him. Bekah before we continue you need to tell your companions to stop flying. Thunderbirds are territorial and in his mind the sky is his and they are insulting him by flying in it.

Ilya and Lyss would finish up their business and position themselves 5m from Bekah's left and right; with Ilya on the left arms crossed and Lyss on the right with one hand on her hip.

Rebekah listens as Grenth speaks. She takes in what he says and replies, "maybe if you removed the weight of your regrets and armor sometimes, you might see a lot of light. There's a piece of it right here standing in front of you! I traveled all this way, despite your actions and the consequences they bared."

Rebekah pauses, a small flame inside of her igniting. "The consequences may shape how we see you, but there's forgiveness in the world that the people who care about you are willing to give, even if you aren't asking for it."

When Grenth tells Rebekah that her birds needed to leave the area, the flame turns into a wildfire.

"My birds aren't going anywhere because the sky doesn't belong to anyone, just like this land doesn't. Am I too close to you? Do you want me to remove myself also? Is my care insulting to you?" Rebekah stomps up to Grenth.

"You and your thunderbirds need to understand that not everyone is going to hurt you. I shouldn't have came here? My birds shouldn't fly in the sky? What is next... we should've never been allies?!" Peering up at Grenth, her eyes beginning to turn black, the red veins around them bulging and stretching out like lightning bolts down her cheeks. The nature energy within her was beginning to boil.

Inches away from Grenth, Rebekah begins to wonder why she is even trying to save someone who doesn't want to be saved. Her tiny tennis ball-sized birds each begin to react to Rebekah's irritation, spreading out into different locations around the sky, one even fleeing to around 15 meters away.

"Just tell me why you left!" Rebekah shouts, her tiny birds reacting the same way, Hawthorne causing sounds of explosions and Odair matching the pitch of falling boulders as they crash. However, no physical threat was present. They zig zag around.

Meanwhile, Carla follows Rebekah's leg, hiding behind it.

(Kchuysei: Chōshō no kazoku) Summoning: Family of Mockery
Type: Supplementary
Rank: A
Range:Short-Long
Chakra Cost: 30
Damage Points: N/A
Description: With this technique, a signer of the Mockingbird summoning contract can call upon the trio of miniature mockingbirds. Snow, Hawthorne and Odair. These mockingbirds are a lot smaller than most mockingbirds, each roughly the size of a tennis ball and capable of flying at great speeds. These Mockingbirds each specialize in recreating different sounds of battle.
- Odair is able to recreate the sound of a larger weapon such as a battleaxe, large rock or a trident traveling through the air.
- Hawthorne is a master of explosions, able to recreate the sounds of many varying sized explosions pitch perfectly.
- Snow is a master of the silent whoosh. He can recreate the sounds of small weapons travelling through the air such as kunai, shuriken or senbon.
These Mockingbirds are close to useless in an offensive sense due to their lack of size, however, with a whistle different to that of Valor's they can be summoned to the field in a near instant by signers with access to sound release. As well as being familiar with the sound summoning method, the Mockingbirds can be summoned to the battle each in a different location and anywhere up to long range of the summoner.
-One bird cannot remain on the battlefield alone. There must be at least 2 alive.
- Lasts for up to 5 turns and summoned once

chakra = 1520.

Her words echoed through his mind but as they did he felt pained and the pain angered him and pushed him deeper into the darkness. Halting Ilya's and Lyss's blades and whip with his hands as the moved in to attack Desmond spoke, Regrets? Bekah the only thing I regret is being born and my armor is simply for my own protection. Also, you are right you and the villagers back home are a light in the darkness but all that is is hope which causes more suffering as the boy tries to reach it.

If you or the others forgive me for my transgressions then that proves to me that I'm currently am unworthy of being apart of the village.

The sky belongs to those who take it just like the land we call home belongs to Tsumigakure because Golden Sabbath took it; just like the lands of the other villages, and the lands here. Newly discovered but already being claimed for the benefit of someone else. You can do what you please Bekah and know you being here doesn't insult me it just hurts.

I'm not worried about myself getting hurt and Jecht... well Jecht and his kind demand dominion of the sky. If we hadn't been allies we couldn't have saved that village way back when. Like I said the past shapes who we are today and I wouldn't be me if it weren't for those I have met.

I left because I decided it would be better and safer for the village if I did and you being here is putting that at risk.

Jecht grew irritated with what he considered lower birds and Desmond let out a sigh and gave him a set of instructions.

Rebekah listens to Grenth, and can relate and understand, at least to the best of her ability.

"What about you leaving makes the village any safer? Everyone in the village has major flaws and regrets, that's why it's named the way it is..." Rebekah mumbles, not sure if she will ever be able to convince Grenth that he is family to the village and family never gives up on family.

"Anyway, just answer me this, are you at least happy?" Rebekah asks Sado's question.

With that she waits for a reply. Perhaps he never was happy and never will be happy, but surely being apart of the village at least lessened the loneliness that Grenth felt. But not enough to make him stay.

Desmond let out a sigh, My mind and body may not be my own and so I'm currently a danger to the village and this is my sin to bare. As for your second question, I don't know whether Sado asked you to say that or if you truly want to know but the answer is no... With that being said Desmond released the twin's weapons as Jecht channeled his chakra into the rain turning it acidic, he had grown tired of the intruders in his domain. Utilizing what he could see in conjunction with Desmond's and Cynn's input he ensures that his allies aren't harmed by his jutsu. As the rain falls Rebekah will start to feel her skin burn and her cat summon would disperse, I told you not to anger him but besides that, I'm going to need you to forget you saw me. As he says this Cynn would grab her feet and drag Rebekah into the ground as Desmond raised his right leg aiming to drop it onto her head.
