Fought what? The religious and ethic system in which they live in? What exactly are they going to fight? I mean if they fight the husband I'm pretty sure they would be over powered I mean a normal 17 year old boy won't fair to well against a 30 year old man who most likely has help and even if they do kill him they would have to face judicial consequences. I mean the family of the girl is on the husband's side so it's not like she will get any help from them at all. They have no money to simply run away and they have no way to make money to barely scrap by and survive. I'm pretty sure they had strong enough feelings for one another might not fit into your movie adaptation of love but I'm sure they cared enough to die for one another. Not everything works like a movie or an anime series, they won't be able to survive without food or money. They won't be able to get pretty far without money, they might be able to make it to the next village over but guess who will probably follow them... You're taking your exceptions of life and love and trying to force them onto a situation in which they really don't fit. You can take it any which way you want; they're cowards for committing suicide, it was the wrong choice whatever. Honestly they didn't have many choices to choose from otherwise I think they would have chose something other than suicide.

Before you go quesioning their resolve, I must ask you if you'd rather live in misery or go to sleep and hope for a better tomorrow? If you have better suggestions that'd actually lead somewhere, then please share. Kids running away in a third world country doesn't seem much better alternative.

alot of people are acting as if they knew their life's situations, what kind of families they had. Who's to say they didnt look for other options? They were under aged, with a teenage mindset, they didnt have the opportunity to think the way we do. They were born in another country with different morals, cultural rules etc, who's to say if you werent born there, and u were put in their situation, you wouldnt do the same? You only think that way cuz like most ppl born in well developed countries such as US, Europe. etc, only see one side, and dont try to see both sides for what it is. You only think that way cuz where you grew up, you are taught different morals, and taught and raised differently. So for you it might be pitiful, but for them, it was probably better off to die, then to let the one you love suffer. Dont be so narrow minded.

:\ i live in pakistan and have visited bangladesh on business trips with my uncle multiple times. Bangladesh is more economically developed then Pakistan and those people have absolutely no faith in religion or culture. We can assume i've atleast have an idea of how it could have been? But i stand to what i said .-.

like i said, you dont know what else they were going through. If your the type who just listens to the media, then you know nothing. Not saying u are.

Also, maybe they TRULY werent in love? Maybe, as most teenagers THOUGHT they were? didnt think of that huh? being narrow minded is only seeing things as one way, without ever think of other possibilities that surround the situation, all ur saying is, "they could've done this, they should've done that." which i agree on, but im not so narrow-minded to not think that WHO'S to say they didnt try other things, who to say they didnt try running away? who's to say they've thought about every other alternative they could? maybe since they were technically commiting a taboo they were despised, and wanted, the boy and girl probably would have either been killed, or the girl forcefully taken against her will, and then to suffer, we're talking about a country who has strict rules. They still have death penalty probably, maybe they thought if they were going to be killed, might as well die together at their own hands instead of public executions to be used as an example? Like I said, your born where tough decisions dont really have to be made, and that if anything bad or good happens, its usually up to you. Not someone else. Its always easy to say how things shouldve gone, but you never know what you'd do if you were to live in that country in their same situation. To say you do know is narrow-minded cuz you dont understand the full length of their mindset in living there, and what was gong on in their personal life. Yes, to be pushed to suicide is sad, but remember, these kids were really young, with NO support from their parents who are supposed to be the ones they look to, if ur a kid, and everyone including your parents are out to get you, what do you do? Run and live in fear hoping day after day they dont find you? try to fight back, and lose, watching the one u love suffer and be taken away from you possibly never seeing them again, or three, take it upon yourselves to love each other until you both die together..im sure either way, the outcome would have been they would eventually kill themselves anyway, or they would live a sad life or MAYBE they would have accepted it and eventually move on, but im sure death is better than accepting the life that someone has to FORCE you to live. Gotta look at the entire picture, not just te part you wanna see.
