Anyway, just wait OP. Oda is not entitled to give you something right away; he takes hundreds of chapters to develop a single character. Say everyone became badass right at Arlong Park; what further development could they use if they all became supermen?

He is the most hilarous character in the Straw Hats if you think Ussop is annyoing and irritating than you will never like him. Sogeking is even more epic. He'll shine soon enough in the most badass and epic moment of One Piece.

don´t know why so many hate usopp, he is one of the best developed characters and funny everbody only likes the cool and badass ones but without cowards like usopp everybody would be just badass and it would get boring he is the most human character because he can feal fear and is not just kicking asses also without him the cool character wouldn´t have as many chances to shine

I am not gonna tell you if he gets stronger or not cause it's a spoil but in the last episode he said "shut up" to an enemy, and i was like "" ussop didn't start trembling from fear and he answered back aggresively....this is a big improvement for ussop xD , but seriously, watch the anime , that's the only way to find out

Keeping it simple. There are over 500 episodes. Obviously, there is character development, not to mention a time-skip. The current Usopp is not the same Usopp that your watching now. Battle-wise that is. Hes still funny ^^

I never disliked Usopp and it won't be good if all the Strawhats are fearless ass kicking monsters, we need some who get scared to death.
Just be patient and read, as you progress ( when usopp will fight a member of SH ) i'm sure you will not be that tired of him. Oda isn't the kind of man to put character who all purely useless.
