Background Info.
History:
Shiru was born in the family of Shikamaru and Shikaku. He was the first-born, thus being one or two years older than Shikamaru. Shikamaru and Shiru grew up together as close brothers, each supporting the other in many different obstacles. They learned jutsu together with their father, supported one another. But sometime when Shiru was five years old, Shikaku, his father, went out for an Anbu mission and always came back late so Shiru and Shikamaru ever saw him. During that time period, Shiru and Shikamaru would often hear their parents talk in low tones.
One morning, Shiru found his dad sitting alone downstairs. Shikaku looked grim; he told the young kid in low tones that he had lost the gamble on a mission and that he was forced to give Shiru away. He told Shiru that he'd lost a battle with a Sand Ninja, and in return, was forced to give away his son or a war would start place. Shikaku explained that he was lucky that he told the ninja that he only had one son. He said the plan was to meet at nine PM at a place of out Konoha, but he wasn't going to agree with it. Shikaku had told the Hokage about the problem, and the Hokage would take care of it by sending some Anbu and a fake Shiru. But Shiru would have to leave Konoha just to take precautions.
So Shiru left Konoha on his own journey. He set off with an Anbu on a journey. The Anbu taught him basic surviving skills up till Shiru was ten years old, then left to return to Konoha. Shiru continued traveling by himself, going from village to village and surviving just on his intellectual skills inherited from his clan.
