The lids of the two coffins fell with a loud thud and a shinobi stepped out of each.
“That...that's” an Uchiha stuttered while pointing a trembling finger at one of the revived shinobi that alighted from one of the newly opened coffins. The Edo Tensei in question was a brown-haired man dressed in a long robe, black in color, which reached his feet and had a high collar. He also carried a sword on the white obi which was tied around his waist. His skin was pale and severely cracked as a result of the Edo Tensei and his eyes were closed. The other shinobi who emerged from the second coffin was a stout and robust man who was shirtless, wore black pants and no shoes. His face was plump and bore a rather bulbous nose and small eyes which were closed. Beneath his conspicuous nose was a full moustache which covered his upper lip and was the only facial hair he had.
“Your fear is understandable.” Tobirama said as his crimson eyes turned to the brown-haired Edo tensei. “That man is a very powerful shinobi, I'd say he was the second most powerful of the three shinobi under my command. But you already know that, he was the former Uchiha leader.” Tobirama grinned then took out a kunai which had a red piece of paper tied to the circular opening on its handle then glided casually towards the revived shinobi.
“How...how did you get Saigo-sama?!” Shinji asked, his eyes wide with fear while sweat trickled down the side of his face.
“Ironically, he was the easiest to obtain,” Tobirama answered while he forced the tagged kunai into the revived Uchiha's head, “since he was already dead. Madara killed him, no?”
“You sick bastard.” Shinji growled. “I'll kill you if its the last thing I do!” he threatened while seething with rage.
“Control yourself Shinji-san.”
Shinji's eyes widened with shock and his jaw dropped when he heard their former leader speak. “Uchiha Saigo-sama...”
“Rally your water users in preparation for my fire techniques.” Saigo instructed calmly as smoke exuded from the surface of his skin and clothing. Life was being restored to him as a result of the kunai being shoved into the back of his head. “As you know I'm also an Earth user so make use of your Lightning element and avoid my eyes. It would be better not to even risk getting caught in one of my illusions. As for all my other techniques, you, as my right hand man, should be prepared for them especially the Uchiha kinjutsu....goodluck Shinji..” The sclera of his eyes darkened as he totally lost control of his own body and his mind eroded.
“I'm impressed he could fight it long enough to say all that.” Tobirama complimented his tool as he formed the Tiger seal. “I'm curious to see this 'Uchiha kinjutsu' he mentioned. Seems this battle will be more interesting than I thought.” Tobirama said as he placed a similar kunai inside the head of the shirtless shinobi who emerged from the other coffin.
“Who is that other one?” Miroku summoned the courage to ask.
“Oh, that's Manji. He's the strongest one in my collection” Tobirama answered as he placed a hand on the shoulder of the shirtless Edo Tensei.
Shinji stared with grimace for a moment and turned to the female Uchiha who was maintaining the barrier around him as well as replenishing his chakra reserves. “That's enough chakra for now. I'm going to attack while we still can.” A black portal appeared in front of Shinji. He took out a few shuriken from his pouch then coated them with lightning while holding them between his fingers before he hurled them into the portal. Another portal appeared beside their revived former Uchiha leader from which the shuriken emerged and went straight at the Edo Tensei.
Tobirama saw this and frantically formed half the Tiger seal, causing Saigo to leap away from the path of the shuriken, evading them. Suddenly the shuriken, as if moving on their own accord, changed directions and went for Tobirama who was standing beside Manji, the other Edo Tensei. Tobirama, reacted fast enough to block with the Edo Tensei beside him, using him as a human sheild. The lightning coated shuriken plunged into Manji's body just as Shinji formed another seal.
“Petrify!” Shinji commanded. Manji immediately slumped and landed face first on the ground and small lightning sparks flared around his skin.
“Interesting technique.” Tobirama observed. “I'm guessing you've totally paralysed his body with lightning from those shuriken. Your target was me.”
“Hmph, actually my target was Manji. You mentioned that man is the strongest. It would be best to deal with him first.” Shinji smirked and folded his hands.
“I see. You have more up your sleeve than I thought.” Tobirama complimented with a grin as the Senju formed the Tiger seal, commanding the revived Uchiha Saigo to attack him own kin, sword in hand.
“You have,” Shinji began as a scroll fell from his inside right sleeve and he took of it, “no idea!” He formed the Snake seal while still holding the scroll in between his fingers. Suddenly the paralyzed Edo Tensei who laid motionless on the ground, leaped to his feet and threw a punch at his summoner Tobirama. The Senju leaped backwards to evade Manji's attack, the Edo Tensei then charged at Saigo.
“What's going on?!” Tobirama thought as he formed a seal with one hand while watching one of his Edo Tensei attack the other. “Did Shinji take control of Manji's body with the lightning?!” Saigo evaded Manji and planted his sword in the Edo Tensei's chest.
Manji, with no regard for his stab wound, threw a punch at Saigo. The former Uchiha leader leaped away to avoid the attack, leaving his sword inside Manji's body. As Saigo landed on the ground, a black portal appeared beneath him and Shinji emerged from it with a scroll in his hand.
“It's over, Saigo-sama!” Shinji declared as he opened the scroll, releasing a large number of weapons from it.
Saigo seeing this, clapped his hands causing a ring of white flames to appear around him. The weapons clashed with the flames and were instantly melted away. Saigo then pointed the index finger of his right hand at Shinji, causing the flames to move towards the Uchiha. A black portal appeared instantly in front of Shinji and he entered into it, disappearing and completely evading the white flames. Shinji reappeared, beside Miroku from yet another black portal.
“What was that fire technique?” Miroku asked, his voice quivering and his eyes wide with fear.
“That was Saigo-sama's Synergy technique which creates flames of unfathomable power.” Shinji answered. “It was this technique that made Saigo-sama's the greatest among the Uchiha until Madara-sama awakened the Mangekyo.” Shinji answered as he rolled up the scroll in his hand and it disappeared into his sleeve. “It'll be tough getting through that ring of fire.”
“I see.” said Miroku.
“Taking control of Manji and nearly attacking Saigo in one move, you're more impressive than I thought.” Tobirama said coolly. “Though you're all still going to die here.”
The Uchiha clansmen who hid behind Miroku, Shinji and Kikyo immediately armed themselves with various weapons. “We can see our enemies now, you don't have to do everything anymore Shinji-san.” said one of them. “We can help now!” said another.
“Tobirama-kun, we've killed all your clones and forced you to use your strongest weapons. In addition, we have captured one of them, I think it's safe to say you're losing at this point.” Shinji commented with a grin.
“I only find this interesting, not difficult. Though it seems I'll have to take you all seriously now. ” Tobirama clapped his hands, causing a wooden coffin to appear behind Manji and encase him before disppearing in a puff of smoke and reappearing beside Tobirama. Manji, still under Shinji's control, blasted the coffin lid open with a powerful punch and charged at Tobirama. The Senju evaded his blow then placed an explosive note on his arm before leaping away. While still in mid-air, Tobirama formed a hand seal causing the paper to explode, destroying Manji's entire body. Tobirama landed on the ground as the bare-backed Edo Tensei began to regenerate. “Now, with the shuriken removed from his body, your hold over him should be broken.”
“Damn it!” Miroku cursed.
Tobirama turned towards the direction where Madara and Hashirama were fighting. “Are you not done yet, Nii-san?” he thought, his face pale with worry and his eyes narrowed.
Manji, now fully regenerated, charged at the team of Uchiha alongside Saigo. Saigo formed the tiger seal then pointed the index fingers of both hands at his opponents, invoking a massive stream of white fire from the tip of his fingers. The torrent of flames swept away everything in their path as they moved towards the Uchiha members. A few Uchiha stood in the path of the attack while forming a set of hand seals. “Water Release: Water Encampment Wall!” they collectively cried out before simultaneously spewing a large volume of water on the ground, the water instantly rose up into a massive liquid wall which blocked the incoming flames.
The flames continued to stream endlessly from Saigo's fingers and bombarded the water creating a fog of steam as the Uchiha fighters continued to invoke more water. Manji leaped over the elemental clash and landed on top of Kikyo's dome shaped barrier which shielded Miroku and Shinji. The robust Edo Tensei then threw right handed punch at the dome. “Blast Element: Landmine Punch!” he cried out as the dome-shaped barrier exploded.
“I hate to admit it but Shinji is posing a big problem for me.” Tobirama thought as he watched the ascending cloud of smoke from the massive explosion. “Now that the barrier is destroyed, I can kill him.” Tobirama was shocked to see the barrier, though severely cracked, still standing when the smoke from the cleared.
“This is a sturdy barrier. Good job, Kikyo-kun.” Shinji complimented the young female while grinning mockingly at Tobirama.
“Thanks, Shinji-san.”
“Damn, that barrier is strong, to even hold up against an attack from Bakuton no Manji(Manji of the Blast Element)” Tobirama donned an annoyed facial expression as he formed half the tiger seal. Manji raised his hand to land another attack. “This time I'll make sure it's obliterated!”
