“Someone create a barrier around me and Miroku right now!” Shinji ordered his comrades in a loud and gruff voice. He then watched as an armoured female amongst them drew nearer to him and formed several hand seals. A transparent dome shaped barrier appeared around her, Miroku and himself. Satisfied with what she did, he turned to Miroku. “Have you located the other two Edo Tensei?” His voice was soft, almost a whisper as he addressed the younger Uchiha.
“I can't find them.” Miroku replied, his voice was tremulous and his eyes were widened with fear as sweat ran down the sides of his face. “What do we do, Shinji-san?”
Shinji was silent for a moment, his eyes shut and his brows furrowed. He took a deep breath then replied, “The water clones are largely responsible for the killings and their numbers is how Tobirama has hidden himself from chakra sensing. Find them, I'll eliminate them. Then we'll know where Tobirama is. Once he's found, we'll employ genjutsu to make him release Edo Tensei.”
The elder's voice was calm and gentle as he explained to Miroku. A plan had taken shape, this alone was enough to quell Miroku's fears. The youth then began to focus on Tobirama's chakra signature and proceeded to pinpoint the location of every clone the Senju had created. “I've found all of them.”
“Start giving me their locations.” Shinji ordered as he clutched the hilts of his two swords and stared at the mist before his eyes.
“One is approaching the barrier at 12 o'clock.” Miroku announced. He then watched as Shinji focused his gaze in the direction specified, causing a black portal to appear there. The approaching clone, being partially blinded by the mist Tobirama created, unwittingly rushed into the portal and disappeared completely. Miroku couldn't even sense its chakra anymore. Suddenly, a similar portal appeared within the confines of the barrier the female Uchiha had erected earlier and the clone emerged from it, directly in front of Shinji. The elder Uchiha wasted no time in tearing the clone to pieces with his blades.
“Next.” Shinji ordered as he swung both swords to the right, causing the liquid remnants of the water clone to be flung off the blade.
He then took a battle stance.
“So your eyes can create portals to transport anything with a Space-Time Ninjutsu to another location.” Tobirama's voice was clearly heard as it echoed through the mist. “Interesting. You will make a fine addition to my collection.”
Shinji, turned towards his right and observed a large dragon made of water heading towards the barrier, the powerful torrent sweeping away the Uchiha members in its path as it bared its fangs at its target which was undoubtedly Shinji and Miroku. It crashed against the walls of the barrier with great force but to no avail as defense held up against the technique.
“That was another one of Tobirama's clones' attack. It's at 4 o'clock!” Miroku cried out and watched as Shinji immediately created another portal which transported the clone to the elder and allowed him destroy it at close range.
“Next!”
Elsewhere Hashirama faced off against Uchiha Madara as well as Shukaku, the One Tail which was now under his opponent's control. A large wave of sand, spread out over a wide range made its way towards the Senju. Hashirama formed a hand seal, invoking a large number of wood branches from the earth to counter the sand “Mokuton: Jukai Kotan!”. The emerging forest crashed against the torrent of sand with an earth shaking impact. The Senju's attack was more powerful as the branches pierced through the sand and made their way towards the Bijuu.
Madara, who was seated on the racoon's head in a relaxed manner as he watched his living weapon continue to assault his Senju rival, jumped to his feet and weaved one hand seal. “Katon: Ryūen Hōka no Jutsu.” A number of large, dragon-shaped flaming constructs were fired from the Uchiha's mouth and the Bijuu slammed its own belly with one hand, forcing a massive ball of wind through its mouth. The fire and the wind combined to create a massive fire attack which moved with great might, incinerating anything in its path until it reached and completely smote the incoming Mokuton attack. Madara grinned at the complete and utter destruction he and the monstrous raccoon had caused. Most of the battlefield was now set ablaze, a wall of fire separated the Uchiha and the Senju and a large cloud of smoke, which could be seen for miles, began to ascend upwards from it and blackened the sky.
“Damn, this is bad.” Hashirama thought to himself as he retreated away from the flames to avoid falling prey to the smoke that emanated from them. The flames began to spread in all directions, destroying even more of the terrain and were now very close to Hashirama. The Senju took out and unrolled a scroll, which was completely blank, then armed himself with a paintbrush. He then began to scrawl several sealing formulas on the parchment. With masterful calligraphy, he finished the writing in only a few seconds then formed several hand seals. “Fuinnjutsu: Fuuka Hoin!“ He slammed his right hand on the scroll causing a purple vapour to emerge from it. The gas moved towards the large flames before Hashirama and hurriedly consumed them. The small violet cloud of vapour increased in size as it ate more and more of the fire, then returned to the scroll from whence it came, carrying the massive flames along with it.
“You sealed away the flames with the Fuuka Hoin.” Madara hissed as he looked down on the Senju from atop the One Tail's head. His facial expression was serious as his eyes narrowed into a razor sharp glare.
“If you think I cannot deal with the powers of my own pet, then you are horribly mistaken.” The Senju retorted and then clapped his hands. “Mokuton: Kajukai Kourin!” Hashirama bellowed out as several branches of wood burst forth from the ashes left behind by the now sealed flames which Madara attacked with earlier. They all sped towards the large racoon and its Uchiha master and continued to grow in size and multiply in number. From several of them, massive flowers sprang forth and began to spread their pollen over a wide range. The battle field had turned into a sea of trees, adorned with several gigantic flowers and their pollen, which resembled dust, filled the air. All this was directed towards Madara.
As Madara heard the sound of massive wood branches roaring loudly against the earth and against one another as they crawled towards him at great speeds, the Uchiha weaved a hand seal and took a deep breath as the Bijuu beneath him slammed its arm on its belly. Madara spewed out fire while Shukaku spewed wind. Both attacks combined, forming yet another massive ball of flames which pushed away the approaching pollen and began to consume the Mokuton.
As the flames licked away at the branches of wood, turning them into ash, more emerged from directly beneath the Bijuu and wrapped it up in an instant. Several pierced its massive legs in an effort to keep it still, then branches quickly ascended and took its large arms captive and then rushed to capture its neck. It all took place in only three or four seconds, a testament to the power of Hashirama's kekkei genkai. “Its working.” Hashirama thought to himself.
“I see. He used the flowers to distract me so that he could take the Bijuu captive. I fell for it.” Madara thought to himself as he activated his Susanoo which began to slice away at the Mokuton that lunged at him, branching out of the ones that squeezed tightly at the One Tail's neck. As the branches became too much for even his Susanoo's four arms to keep up with, Madara leapt off the Bijuu and retreated backwards. “Damn you, Hashirama.” Madara cursed audibly from inside his Susanoo shell.
