So everyone thinks they know what Sasuke's end game is. They assume he's going to force everyone into submission and rule as a dictator.
I was going to save this for after he revealed his purpose in the next chapter, but I want to go on record with what I think and HOPE his plans are and what lead him to this conclusion.
So, first let's examine Sasuke's encounter with Itachi and his conversation with Hashirama.
- Itachi valued the village over the clan- this suggests the concept of no clan, no bloodlines, no families, only humans living together in peace.
- Hashirama- history of warring clans. Villages formed for clans to live together in peace. Madara couldn't get past the "clan" mentality and got ostracized.
Sasuke asked Hashi, What is a shinobi? Hashi never really answered the question. He just told the story and left Sasuke to draw his own conclusion.
What was Sasuke's conclusion? Shinobi CLANS are the root of the problem. Shinobi and clandom are the root of war and suffering. Prior to he village system shinobi clans sought to destroy each other. After the village system, they still do. Instead of it being clan vs clan, however, it became village vs village.
The solution?
Eliminate clans. Eliminate villages. Eliminate the root of the conflict: The need to protect clan and nation. Unite all clans and villages into one nation. One existence and eliminate the reason for them to fight. There would be no more clans. No more villages. Just one world. One world in which they'd have to learn to co-exist because if that world blew up they'd all be screwed. No more, losers for there to be winners. No more destroying one village to get leverage for your own. In Sasuke's world, the system would be like a fragile house that each nation and clan would need to help uphold lest it crashes down on them all and kills them.
This is what he meant by "erasing the past". Erase history. What makes up history? Mankind's story. Our story is rooted in our clan and tribal tendencies. Bu with erasing history, he's erasing their traditions and individuality.
Sasuke, would not be a dictator of this world, but overseer who quelches differences that may arise among the ppl.
His idea is similar to Naruto's in that he thinks ppl should look beyond clans and nations. But, he wants to force it. Naruto on the other hand believes in the ninshu approach which promotes an organic way to form a bond with others regardless of clan or village. His way isn't so realistic though and would take forever.
- Tailed beasts distributed to maintain peace via mutually assured destruction, leading to the abuse and sacrifice of lives to maintain this power. Furthermore, even with temporary peace and end of jinjuriki system, others could try to obtain and abuse the power of the tailed beasts. They must be eliminated.
What I'm hoping for is Sasuke creating a system similar to what we have now: one with economic interdependence. The real world is effectively one united world from an economic POV in that technology and capitalism has removed the barriers the separate us in many ways. Globalization unites us. Self interest unites us.
Obviously, all isn't perfect, but quite a few studies suggest that globalization helps maintain peace and reduces poverty in countries that are part of the global economy. But of course, it also comes with issues such as exploitation and increased pollution.
Obviously their are nuances to all this, but as a concept for Sasuke's purpose, I think this would be an interesting direction for Kishi to go in.
