Where did you get those GIFs from? What episode?

I'm pretty sure they are from the Chikara force filler episodes that came out recently. I can't say with 100% certainty because I didn't watch all of them, but the nine tails thing he's fighting there looks like what they were fighting in the chikara force filler.

While not canon I wouldn't consider those gifs an inaccurate portrayal of gai's abilities.

Yeah, its from chikara filler episodes. I added it in as something nice to look at, not portraying his abilities. However, we can't say its entirely inaccurate as Gai does possess such speed.

Gai is underrated and to those who think otherwise... GET YOUR HEAD OUT YOUR ASS. How can you NOT determine that he is underrated. He hasn't done much in the recent manga, and his powers are greatly overestimated. He basically KO'ed Kisame, or at least overpowered him. Note that nobody who has fought Kisame in the entire Naruto series, including regular seasons and Shippuden; has been able to completely keep on par, or overpower him. Gai is the most powerful Tai user, and one of the best shinobi in Konoha.
