Lately I have been seeing a bunch of people downplay Shanks, and at the same time Hype up weaklings. So this is just to clear some things up.
1. Sailed with the Pirate King himself for many adventures, we only know of a few of those adventures and only seen fragments of those and heard stories from high status characters inbthebseries. Sailed all the way up till his execution, so we can assume that shanks has already been to raftel once. I bet if he wanted to he could get there again.
2. Kings Haki is obviously a given on the list, only the best have this ability, such as ace, doffy, Rayleigh. That ability alone already qualifies you to be a runner for the new OK in my opinion. Sure he lost his arm to the sea king in the beginning but I blame that on plot device.
3. Highly respected by Mohawk even after loosing and arm, contrary to what everybody thinks, I don't think Mihawk passes fights with shanks now cause he feels superior are his arm loss, I think either he wasnt in the mood to fight when he was challenged by shanks the time mihawk went to show him luffys bountynwanna waste a lot of energy in that particular moment and probably noticed shanks was already hungover.
4. Sparring with with White Beard even though he was fighting in old age, we seen what he could do at MarineFord, his power almost sank it, he just didn't want to hurt his allies, took full blows from the thee admirals and still tanked, beat the he'll out of Red Dog, even after him having half of his face and brain blown off by Red Dog's punch. Even after that tanking Teach and his crew. You get the point, Shanks is on par with that man, maybe not in white beards prime, but old white beard is still nearly a God.
5. Ending the war at Marineford, as soon as the Red Hair's showed up everybody stopped, Teach with his two OP abilities and his crew said himself that they weren't ready to fight him. Red Dog was shaking in his boots. Kizaru tried but Ben had him point blank and that's even more impressive than what Rayleigh did, and we can only assume that shanks is stronger than Ben so there's that too. Even Sengoku agreed to heed his words and end it. The only two that weren't fazed besides Kizaru we're Garp and Buggy, and that cause they are both Op.
6. Scrimmages with Kaido's crew and bested them in the New World so for all the hype beasts riding Kaido you should check facts.
7. As far as we know shanks does not even possess a devil fruit, him accomplishing all of the following is impressing on it's own but with no devil fruit on record then it's amazing to say the least.
These we're only some of the feats of strength that I can recall so feel free to add more .
In short: Shanks>Old White Beard>Old Sengoku>Mihawk>Kaido>Teach>
