Well I wouldn't put it like that parse, SSj3 Goku was still having trouble against kid buu, I don't think ultimate gohan would've fared better than how SSJ3 Goku fared.
If anything was plotted was that Goku and Gohan Potata fusion didn't happen, if it did majin buu would've died humiliatingly. Vegito is still leagues the best Z fighter ever.
According to the Kai that taught him to become Mystic Gohan, his form brings out the hidden potential of fighters, meaning he goes beyond the Super Saiya-Jin transformations, directly into his full strenght.
And during his talk with Gohan, Goku mentioned that his new form is almost as strong as his SSJ3 transformation, and hat he migh each him how to do it.(which eventually did not happen)
SSJ3>Mysticism>SSJ2 = Goku>Mystic Gohan>Majin Vegeta. It's like math, but easier.

Gohan is a little girl compared to the prince. Besides we all know initial power level at the start of battles means nothing when saiyans are concerned. Vageta would take a beating but then go on to win because he has more endurance and better strategy in battle than gohan

He actually never said that, it's just a rumor made by fans that somehow continues to spread.
Gohan still wins though.

Lol, there would be no beating cause Gohan evaporates the second the battle starts. Hell, even if Gohan beat him to the point of him almost being dead and gives him a senzu bean, Gohan still wrecks him.

Gohan was the strongest. Super buu had a higher power level than ssj 3 goku. super buu was 32 billion while ssj 3 goku was 24 billion, yet gohan destroyed him. Gohan is the strongest.
It goes like this. mystic gohan> ssj3 gotenks> super buu> ssj3 goku

You mean the same strategy that caused a beat down by fat buu? If I recall majin vegeta didn't just take a beating from kid buu he was bloody and knew he couldn't win. As for ultimate gohan is was giving super buy the work of his life, try harder Vegeta fanboys =D
Because Vegeta was a hot-head that charged into battle without a strategy, other than "I'm a princess".
He fought and lost to Cell, with an endurance that was outdone by his son, only to be humiliated by a child who defeated the ultimate version of the guy Vegeta lost to. And that was AFTER Cell's third transformation.
The only time when he was stronger han Gohan was when he achieved SSJ2 in Majin form, which was shortlived when Gohan turned Mystic, a formed deemed stronger than SSJ3 by none other than Goku.

Vegeta is the battle expert, Piccolo admitted that himself when Vegeta defeated Android 19
