NOTE: The players featuring in 'Honorable Mentions' and that failed to make a place in the Top 20 are players who either delivered great performances but got out too early in the Euro or did 1-2 wonderful performances but were mostly abysmal during the rest of the matches or always delivered good constant performances in their whole campaign but never delivered an outstanding performance.

NOTE: Obviously, I didn't count penalties scored during shootouts. So, sorry to Pirlo. It was boss nonetheless and I might have put you first if I did consider it. Oh yeah, same to Ramos. And @CR7, next time miss the easy goals and put the ones that you hit on the post inside. You might have grabbed 3-4 places in the ranking :p

Almost similar to yours.

I'll just talk about the GoalKeepers. Agreed on Casillas and Buffon, but not at Hart. Come to think about it, Manuel Neuer did better than him so I'd replace him. Beside, Hart had a shameful moment this Euro with the penalty of Pirlo...

Nice sum up! Agreed with everything except what Gilda pointed out below. Neuer did better than Hart in my opinion as well.
Well lets look at statistic between the two this Euro :p

Neuer:

Shots (Shots on target) 53 (29)

GA: 6

SP (Save Percentage): 79.31%

Hart:

Shots (Shots on target) 75 (48)

GA: 3

SP (Save Percentage): 93.75%

As you see comparing them individual, Hart was the better one. I mean even country wise to me England got this far because of his SP (Save Percentage). Hart had more influence for England than Neuer for Germany.

FIFA ranked Neuer higher due to Germany getting further than Hart/England, or else if they both reached Semi, I'm sure Hart would be the third one. Don't get me wrong I prefer Neuer over Hart, but the saves I've seen him make this Euro have been good.

Torres won golden boot over Gomez, both add 3 goals and 1 assist, but Torres got it because he played less time lol his first 2 goal came from one of the weakest side this Euro (Ireland) and the 1 goal and 1 assist came from a 10 man Italy team lol I mean Gomez got the winner VS Portugal and both VS Netherlands :p and he didn't win.

Here is Iniesta, Maradona moment in this Euro

First of all, it's a 3rd spot Goalkeeper place; someone who don't even play.

Secondly, Hart was better than Neuer. Neuer hasn't got much to do in this Euro and calmly assessed most situations. Hart was always on fire with England and stopped countless balls.

Besides, Italy shot around 35+ balls against England and Hart conceded none. While they shot less against Germany, yet they scored twice.

ReLax's statistics prove how Hart did a better job.

I like Neuer. He got a very modern goalkeeping style and as someone who plays mostly GK, I respect and analyze that a lot. Yet don't need to be a genius to see how Hart did a wonderful job for England.

And as I pointed above, I don't agree.

Wow, it's pretty close to mine indeed :p Though I can't believe they chose Busquets. That's just champions' influence. Modric, Parker, Montolivo and even Moutinho were more influential in their team IMO.

But then again, I don't even think he would have played even if he was taken in the 23-Man Squad. Personally, I think Del Bosque should have let Martinez play as starter in this Euro instead of Busquets. He might have shined just like Alba and Dzagoev did.

Thanks for the stats on Neuer/Hart. Helped me considerably.

Germany players choked themselves and their performances once Group Stages were over. I ranked Mario Gomez & Bastian Schweinsteiger high when I did the first ranking but they were beyond dismal after that.

All the players (beside Ozil) dropped form and influence once KO stages started. It's really sad; to see so much potential go to waste. The Top 20 would have less void of Germany players otherwise...

Btw, anyone noticed how my Top 20 didn't feature any striker beside CR7. The midfielders were key to their teams this year. No doubt about that...
Even goalkeepers were more influential than strikers lol.

I know you still got to reply to my post on Ballon D'Or but again I repeat, these midfielders will have been judged more fairly with the old judging system. This current concept relies too much on stats.

I mean see, Iniesta, himself. Everyone who see all matches will agree that he was the best player. Yet, stats (0 goals, 1 assist) doesn't really prove that. That's saddening... U_U

It'd be funny if he gets it. People around the world have a holly year arguing if it'd be Messi or CR. And suddenly Iniesta gets the trophy. Haha

Not that I don't agree. Was just saying that for some people he was out of attention.

Torres got Golden Boot since he is the one with the most assist among the other co-Top Scorers. But I'm really happy for him cause he went through such a rough path. Even if he's not at his best, he deserves this fleeting moment of happiness.

As for Iniesta, well I'll resume it as simple as I can:

Does he deserve it? He deserved it since 3 years anyways and again, he proved his mettle in the Euro.

Will he win it? Nope, he won't. Unless, FIFA/France Football really realized how they've fail to recognize his talent in previous years and out of the bolt, they rightfully honor him. But I don't think so. Disheartening but it's like that.

if i recall gomez also had 1 assist right ?
but i hope this can motivate him to retain his former glory as one of the best striker in the world

if iniesta don't get it this season, then we can all agree to your statement that the balloon d'or has become a popularity contest since 2010

Yep...didn't noticed it :p Don't know but anyways, I'd rather give it to Torres than Gomez.

Well, I hope I'm wrong but I fear I'm not.

@ Escorp and Relax - Regarding Neuer/Hart, I said IMO though, not judging by the statistics, lol :pxd:lmao:
I know. I was just proving why post people put Hart before Neuer.

Well, Iniesta deserve the ballon d'or, but he'll face Ronaldo 60 goals and Messi 73 goals. Either way I won't be surprised, but I'd honestly go like this...

1. Iniesta
2. Messi
3. Ronaldo

Iniesta still has plenty years left, I would say;

1: Xavi because he deserves one
2: Pirlo same reason as Xavi
3: Then Iniesta.

but realistically speaking, I would go for the three you choose to battle for it this next time.

As I said, I consider Ronaldo and Messi trading equal guns and on the same level. Still, Iniesta deserved it since so many years that I'd happily boycott the 2 goal-phenomenons and give Iniesta his long overturned due. U_U
