Re: UEFA Euro 2012 Official Thread - Discussion, Analysis, Predictions & All News!

Escorps want to know another trend with Spain and Barcelona? Everytime Spain won a major titles the following season Barcelona won UCL :p

Euro 2008 - Spain
CL 08/09 - Barcelona
WC 2010 - Spain
CL 10/11 - Barcelona
Euro 2012 - Spain
CL 12/13 - ??? --- Can we say Barcelona :p
Not really but like the last 5 years, they'll still be favorites of this CL.

Barcelona was winning CL before Spain was winning major titles, so yeah, it's a bit of an incomplete trend.

Now, if that means United will again be in the Cl 12/13 final :rolleyes::rolleyes: why not? :p

Btw, United and Barcelona will play a Friendly match (like last season) on 8th August.

Torres is now 22-1-0 for Spain whenever he scores :p.
He also scored 3 goals - which makes co-Top Scorers with CR7, Gomez, Balotelli, Dzagoev, Mandzukic.

Lol, if someone told me that Ballotelli and Torres will end up as Top Scorers in this Euro :lmao:

At WC, they handed the award who made the most assist among the best scorers.

[I know Torres just made an assist in this Final but how much did the others do? Silly Torres, he could have ended this if he scored instead of giving it to Mata.

If assist doesn't act as a difference, will the number of posts count?:pxd]
- forget these parts :p

EDIT: Torres is the only one who did an assist, so he wins Golden Boot. I'm kinda elated for him xd

Its not a fully complete trend, but in the past 5 years we see the trend for that time frame.

lol Well United defence is getting older Evra/Ferdinand, I doubt you'll make it to the finals this time :p without reinforcement in defence/midfielder and someone who Rooney can rely on (Cavani/Falcao)

Dear Fergie

Splash 50 mill you won't regret it. I have a feeling if United sign Cavani/Falcao they can turn out to be like van Nistelrooy for United (Falcao at most).

I heard, but I doubt many starters will be presented there at least in Barca case, but it'll be a good friendly.

Pique/Fabregas time to get busy with their girls...!

He was said to have an offer from Barcelona, but at that time he was on international duty and playing a long side Suarez/Cavani when they face Messi/Drogba/Milito in the charity game. Falcao was shocked to hear Barcelona were interested, but his manager, nor A. Madrid said anything about it. It could have just been a rumouring as it was never confirmed Barcelona were really interested in him.

Chelsea/City are also after him, but A. Madrid have closed all rumours by saying he isn't for sale, but still possible he may leave.

Don't rely on it too much.

Madrid getting stronger, Italian teams will get a boost from Italy's final exploit, English teams will be here to revenge their poor performance of last year and Chelsea's transfer is very good.

I want Fergie to get rid of that 4-4-2. Few of the top teams still play like that and it's time to evolve. I'd be glad to see with a pure striker but I prefer to get a midfielder.

And Fergie can't spend 50 Mill. F**kin' Glazers who ruined us. Perhaps, an Arab Samaritan will come someday.

The last friendly was pretty nice and of quite a good level for a friendly. United will lose certain players for Olympics as far as I know. Rest will be playing since it's a part of the Tour.

You forgot Casillas, Ramos and everyone... xD Was there an on-screen kiss between Casillas and Sara like after the 2010 win btw? xd

He scored those 3 goals starting only 2 of the 6 games :p were the rested start every game lol

Its football, can't really rely on anything, but when it comes to Barcelona many things are possible. As every year goes not only Messi gets better, but so do Xavi/inesita and I see them exploding this term, but it all depends on Vilanova. Alba played well if he comes with the same mentality I expect a good ending lol but than anything is possible.

Madrid have been getting stronger for the past 10-11 years since their last CL victory :p

Italy may seem promising. I heard rumours Liverpool want to sell Suarez and Juventus being favs to get him, but I expect the same lvl competition by the Italian side as I don't see many new things from them, but we may see this Italy run in Euros encourage them. Milan and Inter don't seem have made much progression signing players. Inter released Lucio, and Maicon is wanted by Madrid/Chelsea.

England can be a problem this run, all tho Chelsea/City are heavy with stars on there end, doesn't mean success comes, just ask Madrid how 10 years has been for them :p

I say it'll end up being either Barcelona/Aresnal/United/Madrid. Arsenal made some good signing and Wenger view on possession base football may kick up a notch and maybe possible this season. United/Barcelona remain favs. Madrid will are Madrid.

Last friendly was good, but the Euros/Olympics will play heavy on most players. I don't think it'll be as good as last year tho.

lol yeah. I feel sad for Casillas, he's asked her to merry him a few times, but she rejects him xD

I'll just talk about the GoalKeepers. Agreed on Casillas and Buffon, but not at Hart. Come to think about it, Manuel Neuer did better than him so I'd replace him. Beside, Hart had a shameful moment this Euro with the penalty of Pirlo...

Nice sum up! Agreed with everything except what Gilda pointed out below. Neuer did better than Hart in my opinion as well.
