That is indeed correct, but with a minor error.

Germany Euros:

1972 Champions
1976 Runner up (2nd)
1980 Champions
1992 Runner up
1996 Champions
2008 Runner up
2012 ???

All thought they didn't enter in 1960, and 1964. They didn't qualify in 1968 will see if they can keep that trend going. They have a great squad that has matured since 2008/2010.

It's a tie, but I'm happy :D
- There was quite some intensity but Russia kinda accepted the draw. This 1-point nearly assures them their qualification. They only need to gain 1 point from Greece.

- What amuses me is that there seems to be a trend of a team dropping form after first-halves of a match. Italy lost their splendor in 2nd half against Spain, England defended deeper against France, Croatia decided to protect their lead against Ireland, Greek did 2 second-halves against Poland and Czech ect... It's making this Euro pretty indecisive.

Wtf do those polish fans think they're doing? Why would they beat up innocent Russian fans on the streets? Motherfoggers.
If you know a little history, you'd know that Russians were far from innocent.
Read and for better knowledge! Poland-Russia history is deep-rooted with wars, conflict, bloodshed, assassination and numerous other morbid acts.

In fact, despite the 100 arrested and the ones injured, I think it's lucky that no one died.

Re: UEFA Euro 2012 Official Thread - Discussion, Analysis, Predictions & All News!

Today will be a crazy fixture, Denmark need a win to book their seat in the KO stage, were as Portugal need one to keep themselves in the race. The pressure is going to be on Netherlands, Denmark and Portugal game will set the standard for Netherlands/Germany as going into their game they will know what to do if Denmark wins than only one of the two will advance to KO. However if Portugal wins it will put three of teams at 3 points and with Netherlands being able to pull a victory will lvl all of them. This group would go thru hell in the last fixture, every team would have to fight.

I'm wondering if Denmark wins, will Germany settle with a draw? And try to beat Denmark to top group, or will they take a risk and fight? If Portugal wins they have no chance, but to go all out all tho the draw factor is still there. The pressure is really on Netherlands it would be a huge disappointment for them to have to exit this early into the Euros, especially being considered favourites.

TBH I can't think of a prediction in these outcomes, I mean the Netherlands/Germany game can really depend on Denmark/Portugal performance. I wonder if Netherlands will take a defence approach like VS Brazil and Spain in WC2010?

Re: UEFA Euro 2012 Official Thread - Discussion, Analysis, Predictions & All News!

Well, heres another fun fact, Germany and Holland have lost 4 games each in the past 12 fixtures, one of Holland loss coming from Germany 3-0.

If you know a little history.
Speaking of history.

History between Netherlands VS Germany:

The football rivalry between Germany and the Netherlands is one of the few longstanding football rivalries at a national level. Beginning in 1974 when the Dutch lost the 1974 FIFA World Cup to West Germany in the final (though deeply rooted in Dutch anti-German sentiment due to the occupation of the Netherlands by Germany during the Second World War) the rivalry between the two nations has become one of the best known international football rivalries in the world. They both belong to the strongest football nations of the world, and have met a total of 37 times (7 matches in competitive competition Euro/WC) which resulted in 14 victories for Germany, 10 for the Netherlands and 14 draws.

7 competitive matches

3-2-2 for Germany. Germany has won 3 VS Netherlands, were as Netherlands has won 2 and both drew twice.

WC 2-1-0 Germany has gotten the best of Netherlands in the WC fixtures.
Euro 2-1-1 Netherlands has gotten the best of Germany in the Euro fixtures.

Goals for and Goal against for both are 12.

Netherlands Goal for: 12 Goal - Against: 12
Germany Goals for: 12 Goal - Against: 12

Outcome:
- No match outcome (NED win/GER lose, draw, GER win/NED lose) has ever been directly repeated.
- No match between Germany and The Netherlands has ended in a scoreless draw.

Goals:
- Both teams have scored at least one goal in every game.
- No team has scored more than three goals in a single game; both teams - achieved this once.
- Germany has scored the first goal of the match, 5 out of 7 times.
- The Netherlands have scored the last goal of the match, 6 out of 7 times.
- In both draws, Germany has scored first.

Politics:
- No game has ever been played in The Netherlands; 2 out of 7 games were played in Germany.

Penalties:
- The Netherlands has scored 4 penalties out of the 12 total goals which equals 1/3.
- Germany has scored 2 penalties out of the 12 total goals which equals 1/6.

When the Dutch eliminated the Germans in Euro 1988 semi final, which was held in Germany, which they ended up winning the Euros that year VS Soviet Union, headcoach Rinus Michels stood in front of the Dutch Royal Palace and said to the crowd: "We won the tournament, but we all know that the semi-final was the real final".

Will we see this today? As mentioned earlier Germany has won the Euros, after losing in the final in pervious Euros, so they lost to Spain last Euros will this trend keep up? Will Netherlands get the best of them and keep hopes still a live?

Last compeptative match between the two was Euro 2004 group stages which ended in a draw.
