I kinda have a feeling Denmark is gonna get pretty far.... xd
Yeah! Go Denmark!

f you know a little history, you'd know that Russians were far from innocent.
Read this and this for better knowledge! Poland-Russia history is deep-rooted with wars, conflict, bloodshed, assassination and numerous other morbid acts.

In fact, despite the 100 arrested and the ones injured, I think it's lucky that no one died.
Yeah I know, but they went 10 on 1 and they where throwing chairs and other things from the street at him. And yes. In the news they said something about 1 Russian died.

Betting on Portugal to win and Germany followed by. I really want Klose to score a few goals for Germany in this tournament! Its only suitable that he continues to add his reputation of being a top class international striker.

Last Minute Mate Predictions;

Portugal 3-1 Denmark, Ronaldo scores Hattrick :p

Germany - Netherlands (very hard to predict)... Either 2-1, 2-2 or 1-2.

Have you all also noticed that they play Heart of Courage when the players walk on to the field.
Two Steps From Hell FTW :p

Re: UEFA Euro 2012 Official Thread - Discussion, Analysis, Predictions & All News!

Well, heres another fun fact, Germany and Holland have lost 4 games each in the past 12 fixtures, one of Holland loss coming from Germany 3-0.

Speaking of history.

History between Netherlands VS Germany:

The football rivalry between Germany and the Netherlands is one of the few longstanding football rivalries at a national level. Beginning in 1974 when the Dutch lost the 1974 FIFA World Cup to West Germany in the final (though deeply rooted in Dutch anti-German sentiment due to the occupation of the Netherlands by Germany during the Second World War) the rivalry between the two nations has become one of the best known international football rivalries in the world. They both belong to the strongest football nations of the world, and have met a total of 37 times (7 matches in competitive competition Euro/WC) which resulted in 14 victories for Germany, 10 for the Netherlands and 14 draws.

7 competitive matches

3-2-2 for Germany. Germany has won 3 VS Netherlands, were as Netherlands has won 2 and both drew twice.

WC 2-1-0 Germany has gotten the best of Netherlands in the WC fixtures.
Euro 2-1-1 Netherlands has gotten the best of Germany in the Euro fixtures.

Goals for and Goal against for both are 12.

Netherlands Goal for: 12 Goal - Against: 12
Germany Goals for: 12 Goal - Against: 12

Outcome:
- No match outcome (NED win/GER lose, draw, GER win/NED lose) has ever been directly repeated.
- No match between Germany and The Netherlands has ended in a scoreless draw.

Goals:
- Both teams have scored at least one goal in every game.
- No team has scored more than three goals in a single game; both teams - achieved this once.
- Germany has scored the first goal of the match, 5 out of 7 times.
- The Netherlands have scored the last goal of the match, 6 out of 7 times.
- In both draws, Germany has scored first.

Politics:
- No game has ever been played in The Netherlands; 2 out of 7 games were played in Germany.

Penalties:
- The Netherlands has scored 4 penalties out of the 12 total goals which equals 1/3.
- Germany has scored 2 penalties out of the 12 total goals which equals 1/6.

When the Dutch eliminated the Germans in Euro 1988 semi final, which was held in Germany, which they ended up winning the Euros that year VS Soviet Union, headcoach Rinus Michels stood in front of the Dutch Royal Palace and said to the crowd: "We won the tournament, but we all know that the semi-final was the real final".

Will we see this today? As mentioned earlier Germany has won the Euros, after losing in the final in pervious Euros, so they lost to Spain last Euros will this trend keep up? Will Netherlands get the best of them and keep hopes still a live?

Last compeptative match between the two was Euro 2004 group stages which ended in a draw.
Thanks for your work.

And anyways, the best example of this rivalry is simple: Cruyff's Holland are the best team in 1974 but they are rigged against Germany in the final by the referee. That's enough to fuel this match. Though, your stats shows how close these two teams are. Good news, we'll see goals xd

Relax - and Escorpiius.. u guys have had alot of arguments.... u guys won any?
I never counted :p But we sure had a lot. I wonder how much we wrote in the Debates thread actually. Almost all pages are full of wallies from both of us xd There's barely a one sentence reply :p

Portugal and Netherlands..... i think they both will win
I hope so. I'm pretty heartless and I'd like if all teams are level with 3 points at the end. They'll be force to go through hell. Imagine this: Netherlands and Portugal wins today and in the last day fixture, all 4 teams draw between themselves - ending the Group with 4 points all. That'll be something.

Btw, Portugal is leading 2-1 at HT against Denmark.

Goals by Pepe (on corner) and Postiga (cross by Nani) before Bendner gave back some suspense.

It's sad that Ronaldo needs to keep attacking from midfield. There's no playmaker to supplement his deadly finishing skills.

It's 2-1 at half time for Portugal.

The game is pretty intense if you ask me both sides attacking well. ATM Denmark is dominating possession and is showing effeciency with their shots 4 (4). Portugal is doing well also, but they need to try and get some possession, unless they try to play defensive come 2nd half, but it'd be it may cost them. If Denmark keeps playing this well with the possession and shot accuracy they may sneak by with more in the net.

Thanks for your work.

Yup.

No game went by without one of them scoring and none of their draws went without goals. I wonder who'll score first, Germany has been doing that, but if Holland scores could they win? It's going to be a thriller after this match.

Ronaldo had a clear break and still missed. Which after that led to Denmark goal. You can tell Ronaldo was mad, but thanks to the sub, Portugal won.

This now has Germany, Denmark, and Portugal levelled. All tho only goals its between Germany and Portugal who are at 1 each were as Denmark has 0.

Re: UEFA Euro 2012 Official Thread - Discussion, Analysis, Predictions & All News!

I never saw Ronaldo miss like he did with the second big chance he had. And I've been following him since his Sporting days.Shocking! Atleast, the first one he shot on target. But, shooting off while he had the time to dribble, lob or faint-shoot, that's astounding. He would have been buried before the 3rd match by all media if the match went 2-2. The Messi chants (by Denmark fans) at the 75th minute was hilarious.

Ironically, Varela who missed a huge chance against Germany saved them. Pepe is at fault by failing to man-mark Bendtner correctly though. It wasn't the best of technical football but it sure was a thrilling encounter. Huge suspense and it's how we like football. xd

Re: UEFA Euro 2012 Official Thread - Discussion, Analysis, Predictions & All News!

when people shout Messi at Ronaldo btw its 2 nil to Germany
Well, thats why they do it to annoy Ronaldo.

HT Germany 2-0 Netherlands:

This has been a disappointing half by Netherlands the first 15-20 minutes they played well, but messed up in the last 25 minutes. I'm really disappoint in RVP he didn't make a big impact in Denmark game, nor in this half. He has had some good chance, but couldn't put it in. I'm surprised not to see Kuyt, Van der Vaart, or Huntelaar playing in starting line up. If any subs are going to be made I'd advise these guys come on.

Anyways two perfect strikes from Gomez gives Germany 2-0 lead over Netherlands. If Netherlands lose this they can only pray to beat Portugal by at least 2 goals or more, and hope for Germany to beat Denmark. That way they can still get thru.
